The point is that many Ukrainians are either suspicious or ungrateful about the stunt. It's only people in the West that seem to be in love with this "hero".
Ukrainians, understandably, don't want to make a RUSSIAN a hero at the moment.
That's be like everyone in Cork leaving Ireland. Though the emotion would be quite different. 😅
If that Russian newscaster with the 'No War' sign was just a stunt, I don't really see what it would achieve toward the English-speaking world. We're already as aware as we're going to be without going to Russia and doing vox pops that some people over there don't agree with what's happening in Ukraine, so some woman going on TV with an English/Russian 'No War' sign changes nothing in that regard.
If it's to allay growing fears in Russia that they really do live in a totalitarian dictatorship, and really everything is fine because this woman is free to go on TV and protest, maybe they should get out in the streets with their own anti-war signs and see how they get on.
1.83m of refugees crossed the Polish border since the war started.
Ukrainian MP. And many more that I can't be bothered posting.
I'm sure he will, if they make it to Kyiv alive. I'm aware that the Poles are helping and working hard and the Polish government is trying to take credit for it. I'm in Poznań now, so I hear that directly from the guys that are helping. Still getting to Kyiv today as EU representatives might boost Ukrainian morale and I see it as a positive thing.
.P.S. I hope that the train is loaded with humanitarian aid and that it'll be back in Poland loaded with refugees.
Tbf, if you are going to make that claim you ought to back it up.
There's dissenters for everything to it really shouldn't be that hard.
'Source Nazi', Jesus Christ.
At the best of times, it is worth being mindful of where you get your information from. In a war, it is essential as its much harder to verify information when there's so much of it and it's released so quickly.
If your assertion is true, at least show us where you're getting it from. You're the one who's pushing the idea. It's not up to us to do your leg work for you. Don't be surprised if people are sceptical of your posts when you don't back them up, especially with such an obnoxious and antagonistic tone.
Give me a break. PiS in Poland will risk WWIII to increase their ratings...
Spare a thought for the cousins in Turkmenistan. The son of the current leader won almost 73% of the vote, obviously he's a popular guy.
Don't be a source Nazi and make me copy and paste! Lighten up. You don't agree. Move on.
I hope Zelenski won't meet them.
Polish people and city councils are helping refugees, while our government takes all credit for it while doing very little. These Putinesque clowns now want to help themselves with pics with Zelenski because they have no chance to stay in power otherwise. Shame on them to use such tragedy for their own ends.
Berlin has fought sanctions at every step. It will continue to do so, making the right noises about long term ideals but it's only concern remains cheap materials and energy from the East.
Just look on twitter. Or else just disagree with what I'm saying. Someone already posted about a famous Ukrainian band casting doubt on it.
Speaking of heroic resistance whose truth is later called into question: has it ever been definitively established whether the "fu-k you Russian warship" sailors survived or were killed? There's now a stamp commemorating the incident... I can only assume they did not in fact survive?
Lilia Gildeeva had been working at the NTV channel since 2006. NTV is a propaganda channel with links to the FSB. She has now left Russia and sent them her resignation letter.
It's the Ukrainians themselves that are suspicious over this.
"Is'nt it weird that Putin waited until his puppet was out of the White House to invade Ukraine? What's that say about Biden, he did worse than Putins puppet in stymieing Putin 😂"
Trump was doing plenty to assist Putin while in office, such as bad mouthing NATO and trying to get Russia back into the G7/8. He also parroted Russian talking points and actively criticised his own intelligence agencies, believing Putin over them. So - saying that Trump somehow blocked Putin from his goals is of course, abject nonsense and a view formed without any critical thinking whatsoever. Trump enabled Putin at every turn.
"Trump derangement syndrome appears to be irreversible"
Don't use that phrase outside of right wing websites. No one will ever take you seriously.
Exactly, that would mean the production team, editor and programming teams would all be arrested for showing it anyway. There’s no need to pre-record everything when there is such a tight stranglehold on what is said and shown.
You would think so but that isn't the case given what the grass routes have said prior and since the last election
That makes no sense. If it was pre-recorded why was it left in? Or why wasn't the whole slot recorded all over again after she was taken into custody?
Ah so more rubbish thrown around and you casting doubts on anything which is not pro Russian. We get ya.
Ms Ovsyannikova is half Ukrainian, half Russian, and also recorded a video message denouncing the war and blaming Vladimir Putin, saying she was “ashamed” to have played a part in the state’s propaganda by working at the station.

She was reportedly immediately arrested after the protest.
There was some English on the poster - the rest of the poster ie "the biggest part" wasn't
OK let's look who speaks or can understand the English language in Russia
"There are a lot of young Russians residing in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large cities who speak English, some fluently, especially those who have had international experience. English is taught in Russian schools"

According to one Russian interest website the number of people who have knowledge of the English language whether speaking or reading has doubled
"About a third of Russians (30 percent) speak English to one degree or another:

Ukraine
Again a large percentage of younger speak or have knowledge of English with
• People aged 20-35 – approximately 50% can speak English with English speakers being more commonly found in major cities
• Teenagers – all pupils in Ukraine have English classes at school and would have some knowledge of English.
I'd reckon Marina Ovsyannikova, was trying to convey her message to a wide number of people as possible.
Maybe you could take a leaf out of her book and be even just a little bit ashamed for spreading that type of nonsensical Pro Russian propaganda?
I think the reason she had ‘Nowar’ in English on her sign is due to it being a Twitter hashtag she would have seen used by western and Russian protestors.
That might give the People's Republic of Cork some food for thought! About half the population of Cork.
Is it becoming obvious who is actually running QANON?
Ah yes, "Russian referendum" the very definition of a contradiction in terms.
Yes, broadly speaking, I think she was seeking attention from the wider world too.
I don't think it's fishy, how would that work?
Little green men ................. dressed up for Paddy's Day.
Russia is planning to hold a referendum in the city of Kherson to become an independent state
And this album was an early warning of Putin's imperial ambitions
