Et tu comrade?
Sanctions can never be lifted until putins removal and/or full nuclear disarmament. There can not be another Ukraine or even a threat of it.
Buried in it will be a large portion of the Russian army, the Russian economy and Putin's career.
"Why do these yes men I surrounded myself with keep saying 'yes'?"
looks like a patsy
probably the same guy he dressed down during the pre-recorded declaration of the start of hostilies a fortnight ago
googled him and yes it was Sergei also, this seems like a preplanned event
You don't seem to realise this is going to happen anyway. The country is going to be nothing but rubble soon and so many people are dying for an outcome that looks increasingly inevitable.
There's no mention of it on the Telegram channel for the Mariupol City Council.
Here's the translation of the last message posted which was about 8pm (11pm local time):
The humanitarian caravan continues to go to Mariupol through the green corridor
In spite of the difficult road, humanitarian aid continues its journey to Mariupol, where 400,000 people are under blockade. It is already known that the caravan, with more than 60 vehicles, has traveled most of the planned route. The humanitarian aid included 90 tons of food and medicines, as well as more than 50 buses for the beginning of the evacuation of civilians in Mariupol.
The Donetsk Regional Military and Civil Defense Administration and the Mariupol City Council are responsible for the delivery of humanitarian aid. Please trust only the verified official information about the transfer of the caravan.
We are in a hurry, Mariupol citizens.
Ah, think of the gas bill to keep the house warm in that.
Is the deck of cards starting to fall ,oh it's everyone else's fault but putins
This is my feeling exactly. The best Ukraine can hope for is sign away a few republics, swear neutrality, and that could have been done with so much less destruction.
I heard that earlier too. If that is the case, they need to be resupplied, and quick. Momentum is everything, and to do that would bring the morale of the Russian trips to the floor. They need to be able to push on.
Mariupol has been a nightmare for the Russians since 2014.
Yeah screw you Ukraine for not letting Putin seize bits of your land and dictate which international alliances you join. If only you were doing what you should poor Vlad wouldn't have had to go to all the trouble of invading...
at least the rockets and helicopters etc that are exploding leave behind a lot of recyclable material
People are incredibly generous, especially in a situation like what we have in Ukraine. And are prepared to do anything to help, but really, the best and most efficient way is to donate cash, and the Irish Red Cross are very experienced in this. Well meaning People with the best of intentions organize collections of clothing, food and medicine, and transport it to Poland for distribution. So first you have the transport issue, then sorting and storage, and this takes time and money, and no guarantee that what is sent is what is needed, whereas with cash, what is needed is purchases as needed, and quickly distributed. Its the most efficient way to help Ukrainians.
Not to be flippant but a Nuclear war would solve the climate change issue. It would fairly change the climate. I saw recently that Ireland would experience average temperatures of minus 72 degrees for years on end in a nuclear winter.
Near the equator it would be minus 23
Putin's voter base are the ballot stuffers. There are bus loads of people that tour the polling districts a stuff the ballot boxes at each polling station on their route. No matter what the turnout is, Putin or Putin's candidate in the case of the Moscow Mayor election gets almost twice the 'votes' of their rival. It's a form of democratic process where the house always wins and by voting the public are adding some sort of legitimacy to the proceedings.
The ballot stuffers won't be required any longer because Russia has adopted e-voting for the 2024 presidential election. 🤨
Could we not just get some frogmen to sink it?! Poetic justice.
They are Lethal
Trying to find a verified source but seeing threads on Twitter / Reddit that the Ukrainian army may have broken the siege on Mariupol. Great news if true. But the cost must be huge to achieve that.
Did you miss Putins speech where he said Ukraine isnt a country?
Culpability for this is solely with Russia.
What do you think the status of thr Baltic States would be if they werent in NATO?
Hint- Belarus just got anexed with a puppet licking Putins boots as their 'leader'. Were they playing games with NATO?
So dont throw out garbage about NATO playing stupid games when it is Russia launching actual wars of aggression.
Erm, there was no war then. How would it look if the US were aiding the Ukraine militarily. That would be seen as an act of aggression.
And Trump wanted Ukraine to discredit the Democrats? What are you talking about.
For fauqs sake
Then don't lift the sanctions and let Putin's Russia rot in their new dark ages.

Nukes or no nukes, I feel quite confident that human kind will find a way of wiping itself out before climate change or anything else mother nature may cook up has the opportunity to do so.
I'd say he'll get at least 120% of the votes the next time!
Regime change in Moscow although desirable is hard to see how it could be effected in the short term.
Putin's voter base is largely drawn from the elderly population who have an ingrained suspicion of the west. Looking at the results of the 2018 election his closest competitor was from the communist party, hardly a ringing endorsement for regime change. The obvious caveat being that Navalny was barred for spurious reasons. This is the same voter base that is being hammered with state propaganda.
Protests and independent media have been suppressed so it's hard to see a popular uprising taking hold. I hope I'm proven wrong.
Totally agree ,
We gave to the red cross rather than random crowd looking for clothes to send ,and if helps we've family working with them for a fair number of years,
