Lost count over the last few days but we must be heading close to 50 Russian Aircraft lost in 13 days ,
Makes you wonder why they won't commit more than 2 aircraft at a time to an attack, meanwhile the US can field up to 100+ aircraft in attacks depending on the situation

They only joined because pearl harbour was attacked...at this rate it will take something similar before they fly in to help (at least with actual planes and soldiers in Ukraine)

Apparently there is a 1 million rouble reward for information leading to the detention in a Russian gulag of the driver of the flower truck that sabotaged the Russian embassy today, so if anybody with the info wants to make a quick fiver give the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation a call
No one dies a glorious death, they either don't see it coming and don't even have time to sh1t themselves, or they spend their last few minutes in pain and calling for their loved ones, usually their mother if really young.
This is something that has been told to me by various relations who fought from 1916 up to the Spanish civil war and served with the UN in the Congo. One of them said that they regularly seen the young lad that they stabbed to death in Spain years afterwards as if he was standing in front of him again.
The Ukrainians will fight for their freedom because they need and have to and I hope to hell it will be worth it, because while they are, you would deny their families refuge here and spout crap about them dying with glory.

America doesn't fight wars for the good of humanity. They fight them out of economic and strategic interest. But they appear to have a little more nous than Russia, being that they're clever enough not to try and demolish a first world country full of white people, knowing the kind of international condemnation that would bring.
I don't think its all selfishness. I do get that people don't want to even contemplate this spreading so are prepared to let Ukrainians get crushed so life can get back to normal. I think there's a part in how we've been socialised, if the bad man with a knife wants your wallet, just give it to him, nothing is worth losing your life or limb. The second part of that mentality, and I'm not criticising it, is that you call the police and they deal with the bad people and the dirty business of enforcing order. Well there is no higher authority here who is going to deal with all our woes, we have to show solidarity and determinism. We have a duty to resist the law of entropy.
The Russians aren't set up to use multiple jets at once in an attack. Their entire operation is based around air supremacy where they aren't really challenged. Apparently it's very difficult to do what the Americans and brits do so well.

The Ukraine have incredible guts, the determination of a strongly nationalist people, they do not have a modern trained Army.
Just imagine if Russia went in to Poland, they would face wipeout in hours.

The Americans and nato know too well that Russia only really wanted to capture ODESSA as that Is the main port for imports and exports so once they have that port under control..they more or less have full control over Ukraine and can dictate what's nxt ..to capture cities is only a bonus
That's just dressing up selfishness. You can see the posters here who just simply don't care that a 2 year old gets blown to bits as long as it's not their 2yr old. It's quite sick. Do nothing in case there's a 5% chance I might be negatively affected. Cross their fingers that it gets off the news in a few weeks and the price of petrol comes back down.
The question now isn't whether the Ukrainians can resist the might of the Russian military, clearly they couldn't in the long term. The question is whether the Russians can sustain this quagmire of a war while their economy goes to ruin. Their oil and gas won't save them, it's too expensive to exploit for the required profits. Other countries can produce it much cheaper and will out-compete them with the Chinese who want bargain basement prices. Right now Russia needs to ramp up its military spending while its economy has taken a cut in the jugular. They will have to make a choice in the next few weeks, either Putin's Big Adventure or the survival of the nation.
On that point, I wonder are a **** tonne of Poles fighting alongside their Ukrainian friends. Both countries have deep ties and hosted the Euros together.

People are nearly forgetting that an army defending its homeland will usually have a distinct advantage over the invaders, as long as it is not hugely outnumbered. This seems to be how it is playing out in Ukraine (a touch of what happened when Hitler went into Russia in 1941 and came up against an army that was bigger and stronger than he anticipated).
