Wouldn't put that past him either.
Who's to say Putin doesn't take the whole Ukraine when it's army stands down
Demilitarisation and denazification have gone off the list. Interesting....
The Ukrainians should respond like General McAuliffe did at Bastogne when the Germans requested his surrender.
Russia released a video showing tanks patrolling Kiev .....
Only one thing though
Honestly if I was Zelenski I would probably take those terms. It's easy for us to say F Putin and to fight him, but at the end of the day Ukraine is getting leveled and they are fighting the war alone. Crimea is basically Russian, the other regions are around 50% russian but an absolute nightmare to govern and will always be fighting an insurgency. It feels bad and wrong but he has his people and country to think about. As you say though, trust of Russia is zero right now, who's to say he doesnt take all of Ukraine in a few years once he builds some more tanks.
I dunno, it's a tough one.
It's a battalion of around 900 volunteers, about 10% to 20% of them identify or sympathise with Neo-Nazi stuff. I'd say Ukraine would have got rid of them years ago, but they are good fighters and were badly needed in LNR and DNR. They are similar to Putin's Wagner Neo-Nazi group. Of course, it's a pity they exist
The Rat Putin (not to be mixed up with the erstwhile Ras Putin)
The Rat Putin
It has been well established at this stage that the Clintons and George Soros provoked and organised for the Russians to invade Ukraine in the hopes that the Russian shelling would destroy the secret email server with the missing emails.
Get yizzer bleedin' facts straight.
The Russians have some **** cheek.
These are surrender terms.
Yes, let's take Kremlin-speak at face value. That's worked well so far.
Are the demands softening a little? No mention of de-militarising this time or that regime change being needed as well.?
Yep, but pity it was the Azov Battalion responsible. As wiki describes them "a right-wing extremist and neo-Nazi Ukrainian National Guard unit". I've been extremely heartened ad impressed by Ukraine fighting the putin thug back and hard and hope they keep doing it until Russian losses are so big they can't be denied at home and they fcuk off back where they came from. However while Ukraine isn't full of 'nazis' as putin claimed and used as an excuse for a landgrab, there are and have been elements of neo nazi extremism within that country specifically in the East and have been supported by Kyiv to varying degrees in their version of The Troubles in the Donbas. Dito for neo nazi extremists being supported by Russia in the same area.
Ukraine could turn around and say yes we'll do all the above - Russia would immediately change these demands
In all honesty I've more understanding for people who discover their "faith" because it brings practical benefits than for people who actually believe in that crap like those orthodox cults in Israel
So reminiscent of the past
"Dear European country, please sign up to give us your territory, become a vassal state or else we will continue invading you" - signed Hitler
It's because of the election in a few weeks time. They obviously sampled public opinion and realised they had better change their stance!
Just for context 600,000 Warsaw Pact troops surrounded Prague in 1968 and it took 8 months to put down that uprising. Russians are very good at surrounding cities with soldiers. It’s the next move that they fall down on.
The same Hillary Clinton that threatened to nuke Iran if it ever messed with Israel and that was a cheerleader for the Iraq war while now preaching about illegal invasions against sovereign nations. The woman is a vile hypocrite.
But yes, still better than Trump.
So the British talked a lot about sanctions, while other nations actually enforced them?

Is that all Vlad? maybe demand they name a town after you too.
If Russia takes Ukraine, all foreign media will be kicked out and they might go Khmer rouge if the rat Putin is cornered. If they do the Ukrainians may cower down and be more manageable. Hopefully not though.
You mean a "nutcase" was describing the other guy as a genius.....
He is not a genius.
He is "Vladimir The Small" or "Vladimir Whore" (depending on which language you are translating from).
I dont think it looks coerced, but I cant possibly say that for sure.
If it wasn't coerced it was a very ill-judged idea, for the very reasons you have suggested above.
If it was coerced then for sure it should definitely be condemned by everyone.
Bellingcat (who people really should follow it they care at all about accurate reporting in this war) ran the whistleblower report by two former FSB men. Both are certain that is genuinely of FSB origin.
If the Ukrainians have waxed 10k Russians already, this war is a complete clusterf*ck for the Russians and all they can do is throw more young men into the meat grinder.
Orban is doing a bit of a turn around
I think what the west is doing is pretty good. The individual sanctions against Oligarchs appeals to the masses, but is ineffectual. The biting sanctions are the financial ones against the state and also restrictions on things like airplane parts etc. Sending in weapons is good, humanitarian is good. This is a fight that Ukrainians will need to win. And in my opinion, they're winning. The only extra things I would add right now is flood Ukraine with drones.
From the above
"By and large, though, Russia has no way out. There are no options for a possible victory, only defeat.”
By and large, though, Russia has no way out. There are no options for a possible victory, only defeat.
The letter said that Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen leader and an ally of Putin, was on the verge of outright conflict with the Russians after his “hit squad”, sent to kill President Zelensky, was destroyed by Ukrainian forces.
Even if Zelensky were killed, the report said, Russia would have no hope of occupying Ukraine. “Even with minimum resistance from the Ukrainians we’d need over 500,000 people, not including supply and logistics workers.”
It certainly would be good if the above assessment was true. Though I'd be concerned that it's what Western countries might want to hear.
Out of the bad news some good news
