Commission proposal for a common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens
The ultimate goal of a vaccination passport would be to ensure that children who move between countries with different immunisation schedules do not miss out on crucial vaccinations. A similar scheme is already in place for pets and has helped boost vaccination rates, according to the European Commission.
The problem about the booster is that countries are at different stages of Omicron and like ourselves many cannot get boosted for a while on account of having Omicron. I wouldn't call it a diktat so much as something that hasn't been discussed yet. All that has been agreed is the 270 days for the original and that started out with no limit.

But, you can book a PCR anyway and nobody will question it. I booked a PCR online despite the fact I'm in my twenties, no questions asked. There was over a thousand appointments that day so I wasn't clogging up the system. I ordered my recovery cert the day I was eligible to do so, and I got it sent to my email within six hours...
No one - the immunology experts have decided yet as to how long the booster offers immunity.
Not sure i know what that sentence means but if it means we don't know how long the booster confers immunity... we do know.

Are the covid pass / booster requirements still a "thing" for the EU, or is everything now being left behind because of the Ukraine invasion?

Still a thing, many countries are relaxing use of them & passes as the days go on but still required to fly etc
Regulation expires on 30th June I think but more than likely will be extended
Booster still applies in all EU countries as far as I know.At least the ones I travel to.Outside the EU a PCR test seems to be 1st demand on a list,then covid cert then a test on arrival or within 24 hours.

Great to see, but sobering to think its only happening because of an expectation that we'll soon be taking 20,000 Ukrainian refugees. Only about 35% of Ukrainians are vaccinated.

Meanwhile the EU's legislative process trundels along, aiming to extend the system (which would enable controls to be re-imposed at any time). At this point, they've nearly 70,000 responses so far to their public consultation which runs until early April - vastly more than they'd normally receive for this kind of process. (They'd less than a thousand responses to one on the EU's strategy for data, an issue that should exercise public interest). Browsing the responses, they seem to be all against extension.
So it will be interesting to see if the Commission just completely ignores the views they've collected. "Have your say, and we'll ignore it if it doesn't suit us".

It's not a standard EU-mandated process, it's whether members want it extended, under an EU umbrella. It might remain in the background but countries can decide, like us, to drop it.

Not for Iceland or Switzerland I believe, and I think there are another few countries dropping the restrictions as well.
I've no holidays booked yet, but I'll be going to places where masks or passes are not required. King Tony & Mehole can stick their boosters where the sun don't shine!
Yeah but your whole whoohoo no need for a booster comment isn't accurate when you still need it to go to other countries. Different rules for different countries.

Thats great! I dont mind either way as have it but less hassle all round! Hopefully other countries will follow suit soon!
Well if there isn't the expected influx of refugees, or once they pass, the certs will be back.
