Why do people even mention this? All that matters is who wins the presidency, the popular vote is completely irrelevant.
I say this as someone that detests Trump and all he stands for.
An impeachment that gets to a vote in the senate is like a torpedo strike under the water. Even if it doesn't sink you, it makes you a lame duck. See Bill Clinton.

He would still be president if that thing that happened hadn’t happened. That’s where some people are at, so effectively he handled something badly then people in some sort of craziness judged him on those actions and now some of his supporters are making out like that was just unlucky instead of ineptitude.

Because he constantly bleats on about how everyone loves him and that he was the most popular president ever.
If Trump had followed public health advice he would have won, I think.
Instead, he made the pandemic all about himself and wanted people to believe that he knew more than the public health doctors and would end the pandemic all by himself. All because he can’t handle the idea that someone knows more than him.

He didn't beat two impeachments. He was impeached twice. The only reason he wasn't removed from office is because a) there's a higher % required in the Senate to remove a president and b) the Republican Party is comprised of utter cowards, that have sold out every principle they ever stood for as a party.
It's even worse than that - He deliberately downplayed it and we now know that he (via Kushner) also deliberately withheld support from "Blue" states because he thought he could blame the failings on "Incompetent Democrat Governors" etc. which he felt would be good for him Electorally.
He actively worked to risk/sacrifice the lives of US citizens in order to help his re-election campaign and yet some people still think he's worthy of support??
Beyond baffling.
Because in any conversation about politics the concept of democracy is very relevant to consider and fair to point out that most of the people who voted in those elections did not want him to be President.
No one is disputing that he was rightly inaugurated as President in 2017.
And if he had gained just a couple extra 100K votes in key states in 2020, he'd have been returned as President despite close to 7M of the 137M odd that voted wanting that to happen.
The electoral system is long established, and there for a reason, but it's neither pedantic or irrelevant to point out the scenario it can create.
Any calls for personal responsibility from him mean his defenders break out the excuses.
He was advised, he chose not to follow that advice, he suffered the consequences.
There is no wiggle room for anyone else to be blamed, be it the MSM, cancel culture, the "do nothing Dems". He alone is responsible and it is one of the many reasons why he should never have been president, nevermind re-elected.

The indictment Durham is seeking, is it part of the long-running (2.5 years and counting) report? I don't think it is. But, feel free to link to the report source or your source for the statement you made - that the investigation into Russian election interference (well established, several convictions) and the origins of the investigation (Durham's report) yielded this most recent filing by Durham?
Please link to the "report" and the specific evidence that the sitting President was spied upon, as you claim.
He’s seeking those indictments because he has uncovered evidence. His initial charge of ‘Special counsel to review origins of Trump-Russia investigation’ upgraded in Oct 19 to ‘Investigation into origins of FBI investigation "Crossfire Hurricane”’ and it was now a criminal probe.
Sussman and Steele I believe have already been indicted with probably a lot more to come. He already unearthed the mess behind the Steele dossier.

And - Durham has been at this for 18 months and it's only in the last few days we get these "revelations" conveniently timed to draw attention away from multiple reports of Major security breaches by Trump himself and his extended team.
We've had multiple claims of "blockbuster evidence" from the Durham investigations and so far all of them have amounted to absolutely nothing.
So far he's managed a grand total of two indictments.
One for Michael Sussman for mispresenting "the capacity in which he was providing allegations to the FBI" - It is very important to note that Durham is not claiming that the information he provided was wrong at all , just that he failed to declare that he was employed by a legal firm that also worked for the Clinton Campaign. Sussman has pled not guilty to the charge which according to him is based on a single statement “allegedly made five years ago to a single witness that is unrecorded and unobserved by anyone else.”
The second indictment is for Igor Danchenko , the claim here is that he lied about the source of the information he provided to the FBI. Again , Durham is NOT claiming that the information was incorrect , merely that Danchenko had not told the truth about the how and where of his obtaining the information.
Not exactly "Bigger than Watergate" now is it...
Let's see what he actually gets vs. what he claims to be looking for first.
