Last gig I saw McGowan in he was pretty wasted and no great shakes. Good night out for all that with a great crowd but the music was nothing special.
always good, there's only one issue, the old material get's such a loud joyous reaction that it makes the new stuff "seem" like it's not getting a reaction, it is but that's classic material for ya!
Kim's replacement Paz is great but can never be kim and that can't be helped either!
I wish i saw death in dublin but i hear the gigs were not great and chuck wasn't even at one of them :)
Yep, Kim Deal singing Gigantic was one of the songs that got me hooked on the Pixies in the first place.
the only person that comes close to her voice is her sister!
I would of loving to see Van Halen (any incarnation) live but sadly won't now and the fact they didn't play in Europe so much.
Without Eddie there should be no touring under the Van Halen banner
Slayer - Top Hat - 1988
I saw Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax 88-89 before they became household names - when thrash ruled the subcultures.
I've seen them five times since.
The Cranberrys wish I had lingered...
Was lucky enough to catch Van Halen on their only UK gig in 1984 at Monsters of Rock Castle Donington. Look at the crowd at this and how basic the stage was back then, mad craic.
Only saw them once, she was very shy onstage in the early days apparently- back to the audience at times, but when i saw them - mid career- that had totally vanished, very good stage presence.

Looked it up there, they last played the UK in 1995
David Lee Roth played here, 1991 in the point and 2004 in Vicar Street
Tom Petty, in The Marqeee in Cork 2012, a colleague of mine invited me saying ‘you might never get to see him again’…
Prince in Cork
Thin Lizzy
I regret not asking Manzarek and Kreiger for an autograph or something when i saw them in the Academy ?
About 3 feet away from them !!! :(
Gil Scot Heron Tripod Dublin 2010
Died shortly afterwards. Gutted never got to see him
James Brown - Oxegen (2005?), tried to get into the tent but was too packed so gave up and went elsewhere. Could have tried harder.
Prince - Malahide Castle
Rolling Stones 50th Anniversary gigs with Mick Taylor and Bill Wyman
Sex Pistols - London
Kate Bush - London
Kick myself about all of these.
Pretty sure I saw DLR in the SFX as well with Steve Vai on guitar.
I was at that as well. What a day. Some line up. We got the ferry and a coach there through The Sound Cellar.
Pantera.
I was raging they didn't make Tattoo The Planet In 2001.
I regret not seeing Prince that time as well. But to make it worse, I had a ticket for his previous gig in Croke Park, that got cancelled. Think I still have the ticket for that one too, as the refund was automatic.
Saw Pantera when they supported Megadeth in the Point in 92... Alice in Chains played also ......
My brother was at that gig, managed to get on stage, tip each member of pantera on the shoulder and stage dove into the crowd...
I actually remember lads doing that !!!! 😆
It was a great gig..
Tom Waits Dub about 10 years ago... cannot remember venue... may have been Vicar...
Was it not in his own marquee or something like that, about the same size as the Cork Marquee and if I recall prices were pretty ludicrous for tickets as well.
Wasn't that reason chuck sued the other lads and kicked them out, they went on tour without him?
Incredible band, if Death DOA came back over I'd be there. No chuck again though unfortunately.
2008, yeah a tent in the Phoenix Park. Tickets very pricey but hard to turn down Tom.
I just became a Theo Von fan this week and saw he played vicar st (2 nights) right before lockdown!!
This was Dub but i do remember it was a theatre venue.. if i went through all the things i should have went to i be depressed for a week. Albert Hammond toured here a few years ago and i didn't buy the tickets and gone... Played in Glor Ennis and i have friends in that area. I met a member of the band last week at a funeral and he said it was great tour..The funeral was one of the band Manfred Mann who i know for last number of years...
I wish I saw the pixies and the smiths at their obviously separate gigs in the national stadium
Seconded.
