Anyone know what is his medical exception?
Does anyone have a link to watch the court hearing live please?
context. context.
that person decided to play the man and not the ball in classic ad hominem style instead of making any point at all so it was fair game to return the favour
nothing to do with bragging about Djokovic's being a winner in life
Not everyone is shallow enough to think that having titles and money means you're "a winner in life".
having 20 grand slam titles, the joint-most for any male player ever, does actually make him a huge winner
Winner in tennis only and even in the tennis world he is not liked other than by fanatical followers.
The guy is an asshole and that equals loser in my book.
And their choice. They could have just got the vaccinations, and they wouldn’t be heading home. 100% their choice
I don't consider him a hero in the slightest but I do admire his resilience and tennis skill and champion spirit
he's a complex individual of different sides and actually has done a lot for less-well off tennis players and is very well respected amongst his peers
he has other done plenty of good deeds and is not an asshole
most people on this thread don't know much about tennis and are not informed about Djokovic aside from the bandwagon statements that people have come out with
in this case he has been used as a political pawn for sh1tty political motives by sh1tbag politicians and I find that reprehensible
Agree totally. He's a prick to match.
Insisted he could cure is mother's stage 4 laryngeal cancer with a better diet and not surgery
And interacting with both children and adults when he knew he was positive with covid makes him a loser imo. I won't go into his penchant for hanging out with Serbian war criminals or other character failings.
Is it game set match?
Yeah here it is:
Pretty much by the sound of it.
Will be interesting if they ban him for 3 years as well.
he claims that he didn't know of his positive test until after that event - call him a liar if you want - it was the sports photshooot that he should have cancelled as he knew by then and went do and that's not right
it's not defendable on his part
also though consider sport has seen the stuff like swim ireland, pistorius etc - many examples of far worse things
most people on this thread are piling in without even acknowledging how this is very much politically motivated and that's how it all started
Sounds like not going great for Djokovic so far.
His lawyer is arguing "not a single line of evidence" that Djokovic's presence will foster anti-vax sentiment.
His lawyers might have missed the anti vax protest that happened outside the AO venue yesterday because of Djokovics presence at the tournament...
It's disgusting that Novak is happy to be the face of the anti-vaxxers if it helps his agenda. He could be a role model but instead acts like a petulant child not respecting Australia immigration law.
If he's deported it comes with an automatic 3 year ban I think
In fairness he didnt respect the rules in his own country (as well Spain seemingly)....so he is at least consistent.
Yikes, I think that would take him to 37/38ish before he could enter again?..
Just reading what's happening and seemingly they can waive the 3 year ban down the line.
It's on YouTube under Australian Court services
I would hope France would see sense and ban him as well if he continues to be unvaccinated.
The views of an ex immigration lawyer. It isn't looking good for Djokovic based on that.
It's just incredibly sad that this is how Djokovic has chosen to portray himself. Pathetic really. Guess it will get some martyrdom with his more fanatic supporters.
I don't know if they can?
Unless they treat travellers different to citizens? But he has a positive PCR in last 6 months and I think french open is May. But sure who knows what rules will be by then. He has already caught it twice hasn't he?
Very much so. He had a chance to put across a more conciliatory message about his actions but doubled down.
Probably the end of him if he loses this case?
It's not Djokovic's anti-vax view causing the anti vax protests/riots. It's the Australian government 🤯
Awwh. I doubt it. Maybe the experience will humble and he will take the vaccine and acknowledge it is for the public good. He's just an incredibly bad role model at the moment and seems to be attracting an undesirable fanbase.
I doubt it honestly, still plenty of tournaments left in him...maybe not in Australia though....but it will 100 percent imo tarnish him and his legacy.
Such a public humiliation will be hard to come back from
Yeah I think this. If Nadal gets to 21 slams after Novak gets the boot out of Oz he'll have to rewind his ideas. From now on he'll have a bad time tryin to dodge his way into future slams without a vax. Hes gona be under the microscope big time.
