Commission proposal for a common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens
The ultimate goal of a vaccination passport would be to ensure that children who move between countries with different immunisation schedules do not miss out on crucial vaccinations. A similar scheme is already in place for pets and has helped boost vaccination rates, according to the European Commission.
Why do we have to wait 3 months after catching covid to get a booster? I'm fully vaxxed, got covid and survived, and now I want to get a booster.
Looks like the time limit of 9 months is set for the two doses, but unlimited after the booster.
My mother's booster cert arrived by email last night, having requested it through the self-service portal on Saturday. She's sorted now for her trip in a couple of weeks. I think their decision not to post to those who were never asked for an email address is disappointing though. They are cutting it very fine for this cohort with the new EU expiry coming into effect.
Unfortunately there is an issue when I try to request my father's cert. It says the information provided does not match the information on record, but I'm 100% sure it's all correct. It then asks you to fill in additional info including batch number and vaccination date and venue for all three doses - thankfully he has all the record cards. But having filled out all these details it then said he had to use Jumio to upload a picture of his passport. But he hasn't had one since the 1960s. No option to use Public Services card or driving licence. So no way to get the cert. What is he supposed to do?
well, also thought they only announced 9 months for first 2 doses; i take it we can't be certain about future time validity for the 3rd dose, if might depend on what happens with dose 4 perhaps ...
One thing that I'm not 100% on and which the media have reported in every combination I can imagine:
The nine month thing.
Is the validity of the two-dose regime nine months, or is the validity of the three-dose regime nine months. I THOUGHT that they hadn't put an expiry date on the three-dose one, but I just can't find that clearly stated anywhere.
Are people still receiving their Certs?
I am recently recovered from covid, I have the booster cert,I will be traveling outside eu in Feb, do I need to get recovered from covid cert and has anyone any idea if the recovered from covid cert shows the 3 jabs on it?
Does anyone know of any over 70s or over 80s who have received their updated cert?
Once I deleted the old cert and selected scan (in the app) then it loaded straight away
Is anyone else having trouble scanning their updated cert into the COVID tracker app?
Old certificate has been removed, and new QR code won’t scan in (infinite loading wheel). Have tried deleting/reinstalling the app also with no luck. Also, trying to scan in the QR code of my old certificate gives the same issue.
Thanks that worked for me
Makes sense. It is EU wide so I am sure it is similarly listed in other countries so shouldn't cause any problems.
2/1 must mean extra dose was received as opposed to 1/1.
I was just wondering so thank you for explaining.
Stay safe all. I must say I didn't expect such a fast turnaround with certs.
Booster taken on 05/01, just received the new cert.
Speaking of the issue above of just total number of doses listed rather than specific list of all of them - how does it work if one got single dose of J&J and then mRna booster? Technically they only had two shots, but they had their booster.
My cert shows just last vaccine type, not an issue for me as I had 3 shots anyway.
Just wondering.
Thanks guys, yeah I guess I’m just drowning in an abundance of caution and would prefer they listed the record of previous vaccines, but shouldn’t be an issue hopefully!
Delete the old one then scan the new one. It can only hold one at a time. 👍
Out of interest how did you upload to the Covid App. Last time I scanned the QR code. Tried this time and doesnt seem to be working. The cert in the Covid App is still the old one
Received my cert at 3.41am.
Hope someone is paid overtime for sending an email at that ungodly hour.
If you upload the cert to the Covid app it shows it’s your 3rd shot.
It only says Moderna though as that’s my booster and I was after 2 Pfizer before but it shouldn’t be an issue travelling as it’s globally approved afaik
Edit to say it also shows 3/3 on the cert too. You sure yours doesn’t?
Boosted on December 30th and the new cert arrived twenty minutes ago. Says I’ve got three doses.
Booster on the 2nd. Just got the new cert a few minutes ago.
Just had a look at my OH's cert, if you go to the end of cert, it gives doses given, and his says 3/3. I'm not sure if that's what you are looking for?
Received my cert by email this evening and this was the first thing that struck me too. Would it have been too much effort to list the previous vaccines? At a glance it looks like I’ve only had one Moderna dose. That’s fine here as you say but abroad I can definitely see some confusion and misunderstandings arising.
Think I’ll continue to use my old cert for the time being when I’m abroad as a precaution.
They’ll be processing your new cert based on your booster and you’ve had them do it sooner by requesting it, even though you don’t need it. Either you’ll then get it again as part of the initial process or someone has to go to the effort of finding you and marking it as already complete.
You’re then telling others to do the same!
Your impatience ordering something you don’t even need yet is moaning in itself! You said yourself you used the link as it’s taking too long!
Why have you even requested it when you don’t need it? Looks like another poster has used it to get one for his Mam, that’s someone who actually needs to use the service!
Leave it for people who actually need it, not like yourself who doesn’t! Waste of people time and could make genuine requests take longer!
Booster 14/12. Cert received just now.
Austria is beautiful country.
Double up their workload? The process is nearly fully automated.
Also where exactly have I moaned that it was taking too long?
Thanks.
I keep them on my phone. If I print it I will lose it.
I’ll put the old one in a folder and put the new in its place.
They really need to accept positive antibody test results for recovery certs. So many testing positive by antigen but don’t gave access to the PCR system to ensure recovery cert. Seems unfair give these people are effectively gaining immunity but are being kept outside the covid cert system for travel and possibly hospitality going forward.
Thanks. I have filled it in for my mother. They don't have a phone number or email address for her as they never requested them for the over 70s and certs were posted. They have said they won't be posting this time, so hopefully this will sort it out. She's travelling to Austria in a few weeks and current cert will be expired as 2nd dose was last April. Fingers crossed!
