Commission proposal for a common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens
The ultimate goal of a vaccination passport would be to ensure that children who move between countries with different immunisation schedules do not miss out on crucial vaccinations. A similar scheme is already in place for pets and has helped boost vaccination rates, according to the European Commission.
You are probably right. I should have said those Irish outside EU (GB+NI, US, etc).
At the minute you can use either one. You can't have both on the app at the same time though. There's an option to delete yourcert and you can add the recovery cert if you want.
But then they’ll have a booster version on their health service app and these should be treated the same as the EU DCC for the purpose of travel through equivalence. Always have been.
Mine arrived this morning at 7:30am, several others people I know got theirs too.
Seems fairly straightforward to do.
The current non-EU vaccine recognition info is available on : https://covidcertificateportal.gov.ie/en-US/third-country-cert-request/
I assume it will update in due course.
I was vaccinated in the US and only have a paper card. It's just a pain to carry it around. There is no national US database.
Thanks. Yeah. That's how I got mine in the first place when I submitted my CDC card. But there is no date or guidance on those who live outside EU (for the booster cert). I suppose I'll just have to wait.
How long did it take for your EU DCC to come through after you submitted your CDC card? I have a relative about to do the same whos stressing about it potentially taking forever.
Are they just randomly updating the certs or are they going through the line of those who were boosted first?
I’m a little concerned because I got boosted in Boots as opposed to a walk in centre, that they might not have a record of me being boosted at all.
I got my booster yesterday in a MVC and received my new cert today, almost exactly 24 hours later.
I got mine through a pharmacy too ,had to fill in a form so I take it they pas on those details. Did you give any details?
Yes I filled out a form too and they took my PPS number
You should be OK so, I'm still waiting too, just hope pharmacy didn't mess up or loose form, but still early days, hopefully will get by next week
Probably the MVC boostered are given priority for now as it’s more efficient for them
I got my booster on the 1st of January in MVC but still did not receive my certificate. At first I thought that it will be available after 7 days from vaccination date but it seems they are sent day after? Not sure what is the logic but it was mentioned it will be done across few days so we need to seat tight.
About a month. In that time, I had to apply again because they said the proof needed to be the CDC card. (which I submitted?)
But now I'm stuck with a potentially useless EU DCC cert now because it's not showing the booster. 😅 Second dose was in April, booster at the end of October. I'll hold onto my card for a while longer.
I got boosted on December 2nd in a pharmacy but still no updated cert, anyone else the same?
I'd assume they'll just do a big mass mailing again. It's a little more logistically complicated than email, but it's not that challenging to do a big print run on Revenue's printers, which is what they did last time. Various state agencies send a LOT of correspondence on a regular basis, so they have the facilities at hand.
had mine in a vaccination centre on the 17th and nothing yet.
To actually generate the certs is not trivial, the QR code has to be generated and digitally signed the PDF file 'printed', attached and emailed. Its not a simple email
2.2 million plus to issue, takes time, the system likely wasn't designed with an expectation to issue certs to half the population in a day, there is going to be something which restricts the flow, so they are probably running off batches by surname, year of birth or something else to keep out of trouble
Got booster in a pharmacy mid December, received updated cert via email at 16.34 today, Mrs was boosted at a MVC a week before me, has nothing yet, I know of someone else who got booster in a pharmacy a couple of weeks before me & nothing yet, all seems a bit random but wouldn’t panic just yet
Yep, you’re in the minority. The EU and 33 other countries including the U.K. all have equivalence.
What you said was it was only Ireland which is massively false information for anyone here wanting to know.
I got mine via email today same situation with my OH he hasn't got his despite a week earlier
Wondering are they doing them in alphabetical order?
If they are posting the certs to the elderly again then I hope they do so urgently. These are the people whose certs are out of date once the EU regulation changes in February. It is unacceptable to cause hassle for their travel arrangements due to poor administrative planning. My mother is very concerned her trip will be affected - and it's Austria of all places!
For myself, I'm very worried my booster won't be recorded properly. It was 20th Dec, and no sign of new cert. I received booster from a gp practice I have no prior dealings with and they just had me write my name, dob, address, phone and PPS on a slip of paper, no ID checked etc. I didn't receive any record card. I'm not even certain what brand it was as there was no interaction at all, in and out in 5 minutes. I'm grateful to have received it but I miss the safety net of having it all recorded thoroughly on HSE portal!
I didn't get a card either, now it was my own gp who did it and they just checked my email and the cert arrived in my Gmail today
They were pretty efficient last time round to be fair
Yes, me and the millions of Irish abroad. Give over would you! I said those Irish abroad. False information me eye.
Why would there be an online form for those outside EU to receive DCC if it's not ready?
OH got it today in an email, he got a booster in November, my friend got her booster two weeks before him, but hasn't got it yet. I'm wondering if they are doing them in alphabetical order?
.
This is what you said:
For those Irish living abroad, and provided proof to get an EU DCC, the booster cert is only available to people who have been vaccinated in Ireland. No date on when that might change.
So you give over! Just because you’re in the States doesn’t mean it’s only Ireland! But you carry on with your misinformation!
The program you’re quoting even states it already includes the U.K. which you conveniently left out of you’re initial post!
Irish people in 60 countries don’t need a form, their local Certification is valid! Maybe read the legislation instead of ranting about yourself!
Got my booster yesterday and got my updated digital cert today.
