Not unexpected I would say. The B787 is way too much plane for the PHL-SNN route, even if the LAX-SJU-PHL-SNN loop was an effective way for them to sweat a 757 back in the day.
Really bizarre that they'd try to compete on DOH.
Not sure why anyone would voluntarily fly UA on a 14 hour JFK-DOH hop when QR offers a double-daily service.
It’s AA not UA and it sounds like a code share reading that
Whoops, you're right. It's not a code share though:

I have to admit I avoid QR because of the whole human rights thing. To each their own.
If you're avoiding QR for that, you are unlikely to be going to DOH at all surely?
If that is the stance you take, you must not do much travelling?
Is there any airline vis a vie country that has not had some issue with how they treat staff, public, citizens of its country and workers?
This story was the first one I think that turned me against them:
https://www.expressen.se/nyheter/the-truth-about-the-luxury-of-qatar-airways/
It’s also the only place I’ve heard where women in the terminal were randomly strip searched in recent times.
And several thousand “workers” have died building the stadiums for the upcoming world cup.
Indeed pretty much every country has a horrendous human rights record if you go back far enough. Difference between them is the Qatari government are doing it today. I’m not trying to soap box anyone here btw. As I said, to each their own.
Quite, but wouldn’t use it as a hub for the same reason.
Back on topic. No 787s have been delivered in well over a year now because of various identified manufacturing and structural flaws. AA have had delivery of at least 13 787s delayed as a result, and retired their 767s and A330s at the beginning of COVID.
