Bernie seem to care about the health, higher education, and fair distribution of compensation for the workforce, and was opposed to the increasing concentration of wealth by a tiny number of obscenely rich people (less than 3 percent controlled 80 percent of the wealth in America). If elected in 2016 he would not have achieved his campaign promises, having been blocked by those very powerful rich people who controlled the corporate lobbyists and vast PAC monies. A lame duck one term president.
My bet is that it'll be Kristi Noem from South Dakota.
Enough of a MAGA Profile to have name recognition and so on but not enough to be any threat to Trump politically or media-wise.
MTG is too "noisy" in the media for Trump to want to have her alongside , she'd draw attention away from him and he couldn't be having that..
Noem is the ideal "Political Arm Candy" that Trump would crave.
Who did Pence appeal to?
Not sure that Trump would really care too much about appealing to some other part of the voting population other than himself.
jeez you can't even make a joke these days without the third degree.
Because she's a Jewess? I don't know how trumpists can square that particular circle just yet.
But other than that? She is the ideal nativist Aryan superwoman 😉
Because she's a Jewess? I don't know how trumpists can square that particular side of their nativist Aryan nationalism just yet.
They would just stick their fingers in their ears and pretend not to notice.
She has the trump 'bloodline', those types love that kind of rhetoric
The evangelicals (christian fundamentalists). He also gave the appearance to the political world (read the GOP) that Trump wasn't going to burn the place down. But he was quite enough that he would never take the spotlight away from Trump, he was a safe pair of hands that was more than capable of going out to bat on any issue.
One thing we know is that Trump doesn't share the spotlight with anyone. It is all about him. Look at his reaction to Fauci, who is only doing his job but went from doing that job to public enemy number 1. Same as has now happened to Pence.
Two News items today that just encapsulate the story on the Trump administration perfectly.
In a move that totally says " Nothing at all illegal went on", Jeffrey Clarke has told the Jan 6th committee that he will invoke the 5th Amendment during testimony - You know the one use so you don't criminally implicate yourself..that one.
And in a truly incredible piece of cripplingly obsequious subservient capitulation , Mark Meadows now says that his own book is indeed "Fake News" as it related to Trumps positive Covid test. Even the NewsMax host was struggling to buy it..
You'd be tempted to laugh at how utterly stupid these people are, but it's important to never normalise this. The day that it becomes normal is the day that America really is finished.
Would've been better than Trump. I'd rather a lane duck Bernie then a lame duck Trump.
When the time is right and she can get a decent settlement out of Jared, she will dump him and his ancient Religion, take to the airwaves like Paula White and get the cashflow moving rapidly towards her and her Daddy, she will banish her asshole brothers to Doonbeg.
Christ, they are chickensh*ts.
Not a hope. General elections are won by winning over "moderates" in swing states. The only people who can stomach MTG are base-Republicans. She'd be great for Republican primaries or deep red states, but absolutely toxic beyond that.
Specifically? With your reasoning.
Have you not gone back through my postings and read the supporting links I provided? I don't think anyone here should be required to post the same thing over and over and over again, whenever asked, when it was already answered and addressed.
Trump is rabidly pro-Jewish, pro-Zionist and pro-Israel. He achieved a lot for Israel and Zionists. He recognised Jerusalem as Israel's capital and moved the US embassy to that city. He later forced Serbia to move their embassy too as a condition of a US brokered deal between Serbia and Kosovo. He recognised Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. He withdrew the US from the UN human rights council due to its "chronic bias against Israel". He used US power to broker agreements between Israel and the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and others without any Israeli concessions to the Palestinians. His team put together an Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal that was so hopelessly one sided in favour of Israel that it was immediately rejected by the Palestinians.
If Trump has supporters in 2024, they will be entirely comfortable with his pro-Zionist stances and his Jewish relatives. Try to contain your hatred of the man into something that can at least loosely based on reality.
Is that still true though? I'd say the last election showed that it's more about riling up the base to vote than convincing the moderates.
I find it hard to believe that there were millions of moderates who voted from Trump in 2020 that didn't in 2016.
His team put together an Israeli-Palestinian peace proposal that was so hopelessly one sided in favour of Israel that it was immediately rejected by the Palestinians.
Do you consider that a positive?
DONALD TRUMP FUTURE PREDICTIONS:
Because Trump did it, yes.
If any other President does it? They're covering up for murdering bastards.
The foundation of Trump's base, the evangelicals, are the most rabidly pro-Israel people on the planet.
I didn't cite any of these things as being "positives". Just examples Trumps rabid support of Israel and Zionism.
Its like Pavlov's dogs I swear.
It's all the media's fault - ffs
Being pro-israel and supporting Zionism plays well across both the main US parties. There is a weird evangelical notion that Israel is the protector of the holy land and the Bible belt and the broader American public not only support that protection, but bankroll it too.
There is a serious disconnect however between that support and the broadly nativist, xenophobic and often anti-Semitic stances and opinions fostered by the "base". Outside of the "Coastal elites" and in particular the NE and California there is a notable and broad position that Hollywood and the Jews and even Jewish Hollywood are at the core of some form of NWO and much like other forms of racism in the US, it's never far from the heart of any political matter.
As for Trump being a supporter of Judaism and Zionism? Bollox, Trump is a supporter of 1 thing, Trump! The embassy move and the Bahrain deal served one purpose, himself, it was an attempt to portray him as a deal maker and a statesman.
Trump decried a vote for the Democrats as being Anti-Semitic, despite there being a strong Jewish core and support at the heart of Democrat party.
Further Trump was openly Anti-Semitic at a fundraiser in 2017.
An Israeli opinion piece on Trump claiming a 2nd Trump term would be a disaster for American Jews.
"Being pro-israel and supporting Zionism plays well across both the main US parties."
Yes, so Trump being rabidly pro-Israel/Zionist/Jewish and having Jewish relatives will not be a problem for him.
Great engagement, well done on grasping the entirety of the post 🤦
I've already conclusively dealt with your core contention that Trump having Jewish relatives is somehow a difficulty he has to overcome or hide. I don't see any benefit to following you down irrelevant tangents.
Nowhere did I say it was.
I did say Ivanka running for VP would be a stretch as she is a Jewess.
How many Jews have won national election in the US? Off the top of my head I can't think of any.
Goldman in '64 who was of jewish descent and a practicing Episcopalian lost in a landslide and gained only 6 states.
Other than that? Sanders is the only Jew I can think of who has run, he won a primary or 2 and then?
There is IMO a still widespread undercurrent of anti-Semitism in the US that would see an issue develop for any Jewish candidate on a national ticket, even if they are a Trump.
