If everyone had the same opinion there would be no need to discuss anything and Boards would not exist. New posters on any forum should be welcome particularly if they have something new or different to say. They keep a discussion thread fresh and interesting.
Can you expand on how 2 or 3 new posters have ruined it for everyone. Is it the fact that they have different opinions to you or is it something else ?
I'm not the poster who brought this up topic up but I'm going to chime in anyway.
It gets very tired here during the winter with the constant moaning about the CB and how the CB are this and the CB are that and the CB are the other and if it was not for the CB then we would win x y and z, and look at other CBs and see what they did right (lets ignore facts) and why can't our CB be like that etc etc
And it goes on and on and on.
I really find it funny the amount of love that there was here a few years ago for the donkey from London, just because the CB were wary of him.
And look who was right in the end.
Now I'm not here to defend the CB or anything, I live outside the county and have no idea who they actually are, but the constant moaning does get boring .
Bring on the league.
Oh bog off. Even in injury time with the game pretty much dead the support was there. You must have been on the pot. Well done for keeping track of who had
Looks like Mayos three NFL home games will be away but at least they are all in Connacht.
Donegal in Markievicz Park
Armagh in Hyde Park
Kildare in Carrick on Shannon
As much as I don't like Tuam I am a bit disappointed one game hasn't been arranged for there for supporters from the south of the county.
I’d imagine the travelling support from Armagh or Donegal would be less pleased with Tuam. Kildare supporters less so, though Carrick (or Croke park) might suit them more
FBD games fixed for the COE in Bekan, i'd love to know the reasoning behind this? Crazy decision, no thought given to fans at all
Shouldnt be a main consideration really, it's a Mayo home game after all, their call
Because its played in January when whether is shite, pitches are in shite condition and fck all people attend.
It’s a main consideration if you’re looking to maximise the gate
I understand your point about the pitches but to say fùck all attend isn't true.Theres regularly 3-4 thousand at Mayo fbd games, there was 7k in tuam in 2019.We tend to take things like this for granted but about half the counties in ireland both football and hurling don't get those numbers for championship.
I agree with the plan to play in Bekan though, with the covid situation and the games being on tv/streamed and played on a perfect pitch it's a good idea.
John Prenty and waiting over a year to get competitive games played there. It can hold 2,000 supporters he said (600 seats)
No chance of games getting call off in January when played indoors and he probably feels the novelty of those matches will attract a decent audience for his online streaming service.
Sorry, I don't get it. What's wrong with Bekan. I've never been there.
Games in the dome where attendance is limited and may be no attendance based on covid situation in January
Will there be a back door for mayo in this year's Championship?
We will not need it as long as joyce is manager for galway
Very little chat about the county final
Poor enough game, Westport, Breaffy & Ballina will all be kicking themselves. The fact we had played them before definitely was a massive help. They referenced on the Mayo News the McGeaney quote "If you want to fight, we'll fight, if you want to play football, we'll play football", kinda summed it up, Knockmore were able to head to the trenches when they needed to.
Goal was a massive difference, gave us some space and we never really looked in bother after that. Belmullet looked like a team without a plan, they needed to add more attacking to their defensive plan for next year. Massive achievement for them to get this far three years into senior.
Probably not enough of them performed whereas we had several contenders for MOTM, King, Flynn, McL, Pearse Ruttledge all stood out but having watched it back McHale deserved it, our best player all year. The sweeper worked very well to cut out ROD.
Great to have Darren back too, hes massive if were going to go further
Lots of complaining about the ref, I thought he made some awful decisions but both ways, both teams were well versed in lying down when they had to, not sure Belmullet can have too many complaints on that front
Not sure what the covid has to do with it, anyway i didnt realise it could hold 2,600 and i suppose they are keen to get a competitive game played there.
Anyone see the latest o Leary interview ?
If your here Tim, please fill us in 😊
Didn't see it but the CB were right on that lad.
Away with the fairies and probably a bit more sinister than that.
Ah, don't feed the trolls!
Quicker from Armagh to Tuam than Castlebar via M6 and M17, and only an extra 15 minutes from Donegal to Tuam.
Link?
paywall hence the ask if anyone read it
Not sure what your point is as neither Donegal nor Armagh will be playing a League game in Castlebar this year. Nor will Mayo for that matter.
Carrick is a lot closer to both Armagh and Donegal than Tuam. I don't see any map that shows Tuam is any closer to them than Roscommon either.
I'm not sure O'Leary is the only nut job. Whoever sanctioned this need taking to task.
Just read the full transcript of Tim’s interview in the business post. My god there is no come back for him now. Taking pride in hiring a PR company to sabotage the last chairman election. So much for Mayos greater supporter. Nobody cares Tim, Moffatt done a number on ya and if that’s his legacy then fair ply to him!
Westport and Belmullet managers gone this week.
I don't know Moffatt personally but he's a shrewd operator and will be missed. When O Leary first came on the scene I was all for him,bit off the wall but I was interested in what he could bring.
Moffatt listened to him then stayed away, smart man,he was proved right in the end .
I do enjoy Timbo's drunk tweets though,I only ever see screenshots of them them as he deletes them (and sometimes his account) the next morning. This man is nearly 50 years old ffs.
Oisín Mullan will wear number 34 for Geelong according to their website, so they seem confident that he will be heading down. I've heard no more about the holdup that was mentioned 2 weeks ago.
