Do you get notified if you have a satelite inspection?
No money yet--in Glas 3. Told computer glitch; they said not my fault. Anyone else told same??
Not in my case anyway.
i applied to exstend my glas contract last year but I lost some ground which I had leased, so I still don’t know am I accepted, they are reviewing my case, has any one else encountered a problem like this and how did it work out? I got no text about exstending it for next year I presume because I’m not in for this year yet
No money here either. Didn't ring yet. Thought there might be an inspection on the horizon
I logged onto Agfood to extend our contract since our text replies didn't work last week. It appears that "Applications may also be submitted by applicant or agent by logging on to agfood.ie – to go live this Thursday (November 18, 2021) and choosing wither ‘yes’ or ‘no’;." - ain't working either - what da fook 😪
Showing for me in amounts due now.
Nothing showing yet even in amounts due on agfood. Got farm, house and health insurance bills in the post this week so I could do with it 😪
I managed to extend our contract on Agfood earlier today although the process ain't in any way clear as there are no instructions. If anyone needs to extend via Agfood, log on and click on the GLAS tab, click on Select Scheme to Enter located on the top left hand side of the screen, click on either GLAS 1, 2 or 3 (whichever one you are in) which opens a page showing your name, address, herd number, just below that you will see Existing Applications which is a list of the years that you were in the scheme - each has a circle beside it on the left hand side. Click the circle on the first one (in our case GLAS1 Proposal/Scheme Year 2015) and the screen automatically changes to include New Application/View Application/Extend Application in small enough text just above the Existing Applications list. Click on Extend Application and it opens another new page. You then need to click a very small box on the right hand side to state that you have read the Terms and Conditions, then click on the select box either YES to extend your application or NO if you don't want too. Finally click on Submit Details. The screen updates and above your Name, Address and Herd number you will see (in our case) GLAS1 Extension 2021: Extended / GLAS1 Extension 2022: Extended.
That agfood website really grinds my gears. It really needs an upgrade imho. Even logging on drives up my blood pressure, latest lark now is if I register a calf late I get an email to print off myself and take to the vet to sign. Only trouble is the email goes to spam, sums it up really.
Anyway back on topic, I got accepted into glas for another year. Will have to mulch some trees that just happened to appear in the riparian zone. Where is the carbon sequestration benefit to that? Should I apply for a felling licence?
Anyone else still waiting on Glas payment
Me
If your still waiting on glas money & wasn't inspected/informed of any issues, my guess is you've had a satellite inspection.
Held up mine this time last year & only learned of it when I enquired through planner man.
No payment till early to mid January, despite no issues found on inspection.
I was told that on the phone last week. I was told no date for possible payment though.
My glas payment in today.
A mate had his GLAS held up because he hadn't copped the new land parcel ID numbers, and when filling up his nitrates/slurry data used the old parcel numbers.
Luckily he was able to re-submit the data with the new ID numbers cross referenced to the old, and he got word today that it had been accepted.
Interesting analysis of CAP reforms and Agri Environment Schemes across the EU - this country not exactly covering itself in glory as many will already know

I think putting farmers under pressure to tidy up scrub (habitat removal) to protect their bps has done a lot of damage to wildlife. I have to go mulch a riparian zone this winter or face a penalty. What am I supposed to do?
Has anyone ever applied for one of these/received grant aid?
It's all hot press stuff...it's a lottery to get in (over subscribed), they insist on bat surveys etc... I did all mine up myself a few years back no grants no hassle. The thought of paying those inflated prices at present would put me off.
Got it a few years ago. You may need help from a conservation consultant to fill out the form to give you the best chance of success as the process is competitive.
Bat survey was only about 50 euro and 10 minutes.
Building was in bad shape and were it not for the grant it would be rubble now.
Hi folks, likely asked here before but when can a person graze WBC land? I seem to remember it's some time in March but not sure of the exact date.
15th of March, so midnight of the 14th they can be let in.
Thanks, they'll hold out another few days so.
I let heifers out yesterday into a field beside the wbc that has a nice bite of grass on it. It well be enough to keep the going until Tuesday when I can open the fence and let them in.
I know we’re not allowed to reseed the LIPP, given the fertilizer issue are we allowed to add clover
Are we allowed spread slurry on it? I suppose if the suction pipe accidentally fell into a 10kg bag of white clover seed every time you filled a load.......
Another question might be could we grow a cereal crop on the WBC?
The sensible option if they do want to pursue the cereal crop is to allow it be grown instead of wbc but whilst adding a top up payment to cover the additional costs. Still a non runner on a lot of farms even at that.
Problem with that is that alot of WBC was grown on land that is simply not suitable for tillage - in fact alot of it probably shouldn't have been paid out on given how poorly grown it was in many cases
