I've no idea why they kept gio this long.
Of they want Gio and they don't have anyone in the Ferrari academy to replace him, then who else would they put in?
Why would they even want to keep Gio in F1? Get Mick out of Haas and give him a competent yardstick in Bottas.
Almost for a stats perspective, but those 2 points could be the sweetest of them all if they get him over the line.
Almost a pity Verstappen got back in the race in Hungary, other than that he's been 1st or 2nd in every race he's finished.
It’s 5 places for the PU another 5 for the gearbox and additional places for each other component if needed! If the whole lot is changed the penalties add up to something like 40 places. Obvs you can’t start further back than last so if a couple of components are needed often it’s best to just change the lot and take the hit (like Bottas and Max did in recent weeks)
It's concerning for Aston Martin though, may be a vote of no confidence in the new ownership. He's been an incredibly steady hand at that team for a long time and the team would have had expectations to take a big step with the new regulations coming in along with their recent cash injection. For him to jump ship just at that moment is a very worrying sign I'd have thought.
I know Whitmarsh looks likely to take over now but that doesn't seem to have been the plan at all, he was supposed to be involved in Aston Martin's road car division. I wouldn't rate him as highly as Otmar either tbh, he's a likable guy and he did a great job cleaning up McLaren's image and putting all the corruption under Ron Dennis like Liegate and Spygate behind them, but ultimately he didn't get the results the team expected at that time.
Oh I hope it's true. He would be great acit for Renault/ Alpine to have on the team.
5 places for a 2nd extra ICE
How does it work then? How many places for the ICE (I thought it was 10 for ICE alone). How many for the gearbox, turbo, M-GUK AND M-GUH?
The weekend warmup video from F1 is up and their tech guy, Sam Collins reckons the work around the back of Hamiltons car is looking like an installation of a new PU, which is a 5 place drop for the race but not for the sprint. Worked well for Bottas in Monza.
I'll take it with a pinch of salt thank you very much.
Otmar has released a statement denying those rumours, he of course denied Vettel would be joining them for this season last year also so take that with whatever measure of salt you like.
I'd say Otmar sees the writing on the wall with whitmarsh incoming.
Good switch for him though I'd have thought.
Alpine are only getting stronger.
Looks like Otmar Szafnaur will be leaving Aston and joining Alpine.
Could that highest bidder still be Ferrari? They could be squeezing Ferrari for a few extra bob in exchange for keeping Gio. Depends if Ferrari is still committed to keeping Gio or not.
Why do you think its turning messy?
I think Bottas is doing a very professional job of supporting Lewis and the team wherever he can. Has he suggested things are getting messy?
Bottas should just move to Alfa now. Toto threw him under the bus the last day. It's turning into a messy divorce.
Mercedes could then bring in Russell to secure the constructors.
I know in reality this will not happen as it would be such bad PR for Mercedes.
It's not gonna be Gio
you mean who the highest bidder was!
Alfa will announce who will be driving alongside Bottas next year on the 16th of November.
These people probably don't even know about f1 and are selling their association to f1 in exchange for their fans seeing f1, maybe for the first time. Why do F1 fans want an interview with someone like that? It's not for the f1 fan's sake, it's for f1's sake to get new fans through new avenues.
Why do f1 fans even want to watch an I terrier with a rapper who they don't know and who knows nothing about f1? Are all these people want more Meghan Thee Stallion interviews big Kardashian and Hello magazine fans?
It was getting abit out of hand on the grid.
The Williams sisters etc refusing to talk to Brundle. Well if you want to be associated with F1, you should know who the main players and media are and be happy to talk to them.
Them to be blanking Brundle is a serious slap to everything F1.
In fairness to this rapper woman, she seemed relatively normal and happy to talk, it was her bodyguard that pushed Brundle away.... And who was the other gimp saying you can't do that.
That’s correct, and I believe it’s DHL who exclusively handle air freight for races (only a small portion of race day gear actually travels buy air… but it’s the important portion!!)
I think I recall seeing on a video that teams can't begin setup of the cars until the cargo that F1 deals with is dealt with for all teams, so at least there will be no team unfairly punished, they'll all be affected
"Formula 1 has introduced a new rule obliging celebrities to lose their bodyguards before the start of races, according to Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle."
Amazing.
😂😂🤣
Are they the team planes? Which teams will be affected?
Fun times.
Webber had the accident and Alonso hit some debris from the crash, I think it might even have been a wheel. Fisi had got a jump on Kimi, I think because Jordan had fueled early to go the full distance and when the others started to pit, Fisi ended up temporarily in the lead in probably one of the worst Jordans ever, and then they called the race. Pretty sure it was covered in an episode of the excellent Bring Back V10s podcast recently enough.
And Fisichella's car burst into flames when he got back to the pits
Fisichella only got awarded the win a few days after the event
