Furthermore, earlier this year, Covid restrictions gave Wayne Couzens a pretext to falsely arrest Sarah Everard before he raped and murdered her.

Don't these horrific cases mean that Sarah Everard, Silke Hartshorne-Jones and many other women would still be alive if it wasn't for the restrictions?

So it's a co-incidence that so many incidents of fatal domestic violence took place in Britain last year during the first lockdown?

I've heard of policemen committing rape in Britain before but there never was a case of any of them using a false arrest as part of the crime before the pandemic.

Did restrictions increase the likelihood of violent deaths of women taking place? Almost undoubtedly since female murder victims are most frequently killed by someone they know or live with. Given that most domestic abuse is bilateral, and the increased stress lockdowns placed on family units and relationships, it seems logical that more partner/spousal abuse occurred during restrictions and that this would be visible in an increase in related violent deaths of both genders at the hands of their partners.

Framing all domestic abuse as "Female Victim / Evil Male" as you have is extremely unhelpful however and contributes to the lack of reporting of many domestic violence incidents (and indeed often results in cases where a male victim can be included in the "perpetrator" statistics thanks to the advice commonly given to women to falsely obtain - although weaponise may actually be a better word here - protection orders in cases of marital/relationship breakdown).

One silver lining for men during the restrictions would be that even though they were now more likely to be murdered by their spouse or partner, as the group that are overwhelmingly actually more likely to suffer a violent death whilst simply minding their own business and walking down the street / drinking in a pub: restrictions should likely have actually heavily decreased their overall likelihood of suffering a violent death during that time.

Strange the op didnt come across this stat before posting.

OP posting history on such crimes on other topics would be revealing... this has all the hallmarks of latching onto a topic as a pretext for an anti restrictions agenda rather than an actual assessmemt of the effect of lockdowns on crimes
