The irony of giving out about Irish people talking about ivermectin misuse and being concerned about Vietnamese lockdowns....
That poster is Irish but lives in Vietnam I believe.
AP apology for the release of false information late August.

"Infection such as shingles, which may affect up to 1 in 10 people: Tell your doctor or seek medical help immediately if you get the following symptoms, which may be signs of shingles (herpes zoster): - painful skin rash with blisters and fever (this was very rare in atopic dermatitis)
Very common side effects (may affect more than 1 in 10 people): - throat and nose infections - high levels of blood fat (cholesterol) shown by blood test Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10 people):
- cold sores (herpes simplex)
- infection causing a sick stomach or diarrhoea (gastroenteritis)
- urinary infection
- pneumonia (this was uncommon in atopic dermatitis)
- high number of platelets (cells involved in blood clotting), shown by blood test (this was uncommon in atopic dermatitis)
- headache
- feeling sick in the stomach (nausea; this was uncommon in atopic dermatitis)
- stomach pain
- high levels of liver enzymes, shown by blood test (this was uncommon in atopic dermatitis)
- rash
- acne (this was uncommon in rheumatoid arthritis)
- increase in an enzyme called creatine kinase, shown by a blood test (this was uncommon in rheumatoid arthritis)"
10% of people suffer from the above while using that medication. I really don't think the possibility of shingles, a UTI, pneumonia or gastroenteritis is worth the risk when dealing with a respiratory infection.
Did you actually read that? (spoiler - you didn't).
They printed a story based on the information given to them by an official agency. When that info turned out to be incorrect, they corrected the story. I'm not sure what else they could ahve done.
They didn't apologise - who would they even apologise to?
Not a single link in that article actually goes to the AP apology. Not a single one, they all go to other cash grab right-wing "news" sites.
Love it.
You know your cartoon is bad when you have to put name tags on everyone.
What is this gibberish?
It's FDA approved for treatment of parasites. Not for treatment of COVID.
Note how they left out the important bit.
And they repeat the same attempt to pull the wool over the eyes with references to clinical trials.
Japan isn't officially using it for covid.
So even within its own attempt to deceive, it is caught in its own lies.
The 'cartoon' is a false and deliberate attempt to deceive. It is fake news.
If there was any doubt that Pierre Kory isn't a complete spoofer, that cartoon proves it. What an absolute prick.
He should be struck off the medical register.
The reason that we need the regulatory agencies that he hates so much is to protect the public from people like him.
Ivermectin failed in all its meaningful trials, but Joe Rogan gave it the thumbs up, so get it into you. What sort of doctor is that?
An absolute danger to the public and a thoroughly unpleasant man. But as this thread proves, there is never any shortage of people willing to shell out hard cash for the easy answer.
I'm not advocating ivermectin, I don't care if it works, but if one side attacks the other with half truths, you can't cry foul when they retaliate with half truths.
The hospitals/Posion control lines were never overrun with people taking Ivermectin, it's a human medication, the fact that some people took the animal version, doesn't change the fact that it is approved and proven safe for human use, used in the correct dosage its unlikely to cause any harm whatsoever. Joe Rogan did not take horse de-wormer, he took a human medication.
Chlorine is a toilet cleaner and pool disinfectant, if I posted a picture of AOC in swimming pool saying crazy democrats swim in toilet cleaner, would it get 10M views...don't think so.
Edit: Actually that's a bad example, I'd probably check that one out. How about Nancy Pelosi in a swimming pool?
I call foul on that cartoon because it's fake news that has to be challenged, concocted of lies and half truths.
I'm not sure what you are trying to say, but it seems like whataboutery and I reject its premise.
If someone posts fake news attacking Ivermectin, it should be challenged too. I have done no such thing so don't tar me with the same brush.
I agree, the cartoon is concocted of half truths and lies. Just like the Rolling stone story it is addressing. And the stories claiming Joe Rogan took a horse de-wormer.
So, here's the difference.
a) When more info became available, Rolling Stone came out and amended their story to clearly state that one hospital group in Oklahoma said they had no cases of ivermectin overdose and that no-one was being turned away. It's clear as day: One Hospital Denies Claim that Ivermectin Overdoses Causing ER Delays - Rolling Stone. They got it wrong, they admitted it, these things happen.
Now, compare that to;
b) All the reliable evidence shows that ivermectin doesn't really work. However, Pierre Kory and the rest of the ivermectin posse are simply shouting the same half-truths even louder because they know their audience and they know what their audience wants. There's no way that Kory guy thinks ivermectin works, he couldn't - but he's so invested in it, and it's made him a global celebrity, that he simply can't back down now.
That's the difference.
And people are ending up in hospital from Ivermectin overdoses, though not to the extent the original Rolling Stone article presented:
As the story ran, it sounded like all of Oklahoma hospitals were filled with people who have overdosed on ivermectin and that’s not the case,” McElyea said. “The cases we are seeing, people who are overdosing on ivermectin, they are taking full strength cattle doses and coming in and that is something that could be avoided.”
INEGRIS Hospital said in a statement McElyea is an employee of an agency that staffs emergency departments throughout the United States including several emergency departments in rural Oklahoma.
“What we can confirm is that we have seen a handful of ivermectin patients in our emergency rooms, to include INTEGRIS Grove Hospital. And while our hospitals are not filled with people who have taken ivermectin, such patients are adding to the congestion already caused by COVID-19 and other emergencies,” the hospital group said.

Its sartirical humour.
FDA are fond of it, your not a horse ye all.
Everyone has lost their sense of humour when the shoe is on the other foot.
FDA did start it with horse jokes when Ivermectin is clearly approved for human consumption.
Me thinks they protest too much.
Ok, a bit more context might have helped i.e. that you found this funny in response to the FDA tweets... as opposed to agreeing with the content of its message.
This goes to the heart of the debate on the credibility of Ivermectin when the leading light is posting stupid memes on social media. Surely they have more important things to be doing to prove it works.
He took it and got a mild dose of covid.
Of course he thinks it works.
In the balance of probabilities I think it works.
Too many positive trials and doctors globally endorsing to simply dismiss.
I would'nt take it at present, but I'm watching with interest and
may take it the future depending on how things pan out in the months and years ahead.
FDAs credibility assuming everyone taking ivermectin is taking horse medicine?
Its called sarcasm.
They are poking fun at FDA and parts of the media.
Hes just forwarding on an image that was sent to him by one of his advocates/followers.
You dont actually thiink he created that himself?
Dont shoot the messenger.
Dr. Pierre comparing Ivermectin/Covid situation to Bactrim/AIDS.
They just stopped a 1500 patient trial in brazil for ivermectin as it showed no efficacy.
The Japanese cant even get 240 patients to sign up to their trial in the university that researched Ivernectin for parasites.
Its not standing up well.
Hmm, a man who nurses a grudge for a lifetime. An awful lot of I in his ruminations - that's narcissism and a desire to be right. As I've said a lot of wasted effort, better spent on presenting better data on Ivermectin.
And yet a messenger indulging in hero worship!
When the messenger uses Ben Garrison cartoons in an attempt at humour, he's a shíte messenger and maybe should be shot.
He's a 50 year old man who was vaccinated and looks to be in reasonable health. The overwhelming probabilty is that he'd have had a very mild case of Covid, regardless of ivermectin.
If he thinks his own situation is proof of anything, then that probably explains a lot.
From the horse's mouth, so to speak:
Sept. 2, 2021: Rogan announces his COVID-19 diagnosis on Instagram. “I had a headache, and I just felt just run down. ... [T]hroughout the night, I got fevers and sweats, and I knew what was going on,” the 54-year-old says in a short video. “I got up in the morning, got tested and turns out I got COVID. So we immediately threw the kitchen sink at it — all kinds of meds: monoclonal antibodies, ivermectin ... everything. And I also got an NAD drip and a vitamin drip, and I did that three days in a row.” Monoclonal antibodies are authorized treatments for COVID-19, but the others are not.
Thinking the ivermectin did anything is like crediting the stone in the soup for its taste.
He is a medical doctor that treats covid patients in ICU.
His opinion probably counts more than yours.
