Looks like Kabul airport might be opening up again. Turkish Air Force flights 740 and 741 were headed in that direction before they disappeared from flight radar.
Plane there now. Ominously has KGB call sign🤔
Anyone hear the very VERY low flying plane over north Dublin in the past 10 minutes?
Never heard a plane sound so low!
It seems to be appearing on flightradar24 intermittently with the name 'EAGLE'.
EDIT : Just found this which seems to answer the question https://www.boards.ie/discussion/comment/109989181#Comment_109989181
Rare enough to see the big US transport aircraft using Shannon. Boeing C-17A Globemaster III
Planes going round at cork currently.
Long flight for an ATR. Is it here for maintenance?
Looks like no ATC in Afghanistan

Ya i think the airport changed hands recently and they are waiting on new staff.
Nah,
They are there already

Noticed that it returned to Athens this morning.
Civilian evacuation has apparently resumed on the quiet and only to Qatar. Here's the latest flight out.
Plane going to cork diverted to Shannon last night?
Cork Airport is closed for runway rehabilitation until November 22nd. That’s Cork’s only cargo flight (operated by Condor for DHL) so will presumably operate out of Shannon until then.
Whats the story with 2 flights to Dublin from Donegal at the same time every day and returns too. Is this an error ?

I’d say that’s a codeshare that FR24 doesn’t realise, so shows it as 2 separate flights.
" different airlines and aircraft though ?
Same aircraft, F50 and F5F each refer to the Fokker 50. Amapola are the aircraft owner and operator, Flexflight seem to be acting as some sort of ticket agent, not clear what the exact business relationship is. There are both pretty small organisations who have set up this operation fairly quickly so it is not entirely surprising if there is slightly imperfectly matched data out there on the presumably multiple sources FR24 draws from.
Just hope it's not another Manx2 type outfit...
Unless I’m not reading the NOTAMS correctly and I might not be...is as of tonight, 10/28 available ? Seems no reason for it not to be.
The DHL2885 departing a couple of kilometers to the east off 16 at 1.56am at just a couple of thousand feet over Whitehall, a very sizable and densely built up residential area... a fuel and time saver for the airline but a fûcking ball ache at that hour if you are a light sleeper...
im not under the departure but it’s loud enough here...
-This just passed over Clontarf, Loud as F and the plane is a new one on me ?? (Fairchild Swearingen Metroliner) ! ! WTF ?
Pilot jobs would be very ''Niche'' on this one 😀 This... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fairchild_Swearingen_Metroliner

A number of Ryanairs and a HiSky A320 departed off 16 from around 2230 so it was the active runway, for whatever reason.
Quite often at night the main east-west runway undergoes a bit maintenance, making for some northside noise as the freighters bring in and out the goods.
Also, 16 tends to be preferred rather than 34 in these situations, presumably because the principal flow in the late evening is inbound. Brexit as well as Covid has seen some increase in the number of freight flights, particularly by DHL so as to reduce reliance on the EMA hub.
The aircraft which crashed at Cork airport ten years ago was a Metro III, common enough with small regional operators although mostly in the US.
Most people will be fine at 2230 I’d imagine but 1.56 am to have widebody jets taking off over a crowded residential area off a shortish runway isn’t cool that...unless there is a specific need or operational necessity to close 28....
Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, reg EI-HGG, currently on its way from Seattle to Dublin. ETA Dublin 17:52 hrs, call sign RYR82G.
We are talking about a Boeing 737 here, on that flight, aren't we? Hardly a "widebody"? A jet yes but not a widebody.
I do however, take your point about it not being ideal to have a departure in the middle of the night on 16 - but presumably there was a good reason for it. I doubt that either the DAA or the IAA would be allowing them without good reason.
I was half awake / asleep so by my cusory look i just presumed it was an a300... i stand to be corrected though...just seeing on flight radar we are both wrong it was a 757.
can understand if it was essential runway maintenance or weather but for hmmm let’s use 16/34... hmmmm

Cool thing I found out this morning: Flight Finder added real liveries to aircraft on their 3d rendering. Interesting to watch DUB in and out, you can almost sit on the Hill & watch them come in.
