Take the vaccine were available.
Ivermectin is an add on.
People still die even when vaccinated also.
There is no 100% effective vaccine/treatment that guarantees survival.
I love how 100% sure you are of how things work.
You should be advising government on booster.
Where we will be in six months.
You sure believe you have all the answers and all these countries using ivermectin in the middle of a pandemic are beneath you.
Oh stall the ball there horse, Jesus Christ 😂
Invermectin is not an add-on or anything like it. I didn’t argue that people didn’t die after being vaccinated either, that’s not the point of vaccine programmes in any case. The point of vaccine programmes are to reduce and contain the spread of an infectious disease. An individuals decision to ingest invermectin is useless in preventing the spread of an infectious disease.
It’s true that there is no 100% effective vaccine treatment that guarantees survival, and invermectin certainly doesn’t guarantee survival either, nor does it reduce the spread of the disease.
I believe ivermectin works like a vaccine.
Taking it to prevent covid (80% effective) and taking greater amounts to treat.
I personally wouldnt take at this stage, but believe there is something there.
Its too far from how we use medicine in this country culturally.
It works for them (India) and the doctors there belive in it.
It would take a very arrogant person to believe all 1 billion people are not
making the best decisions for them and their families each day
by taking this.
We should be more open to what works best for countries on getting through this pandemic.
At present we are blindly following Israel in their booster live experiment.
By the way i'm vaccinated, but am very suspicious about boosters.
It just stinks of desperation.
Invermectin doesn’t work like a vaccine, no matter what you want to believe.
I don’t know what sort of a person it takes to be oblivious to the fact that people in desperate situations will often resort to desperate measures, but knowingly promoting ideas which are not as effective in eradicating disease is simply irresponsible.
You won't take a booster every 8-12 months (theoretically) , but would continually take Invermectin?
I'd be more looking at mono clonal antibody treatments at this stage, the well of "old medicines" hasn't been that effective barring dexamethasone, maybe a few of the nasal sprays in development will work, other than that, living well and getting vitamins (by a healthy diet or tablet) seems to lead to the best outcomes.
I wont take ivermectin as it wont be available in this country.
If I was indian and lived in india I probably would.
We are at the mercy of what a government thinks a person should do to live with covid.
That is entirely different in every country.
Monoconal antibodies is very resource intensive (involves people going to hospital).
I'm not saying I wont take a booster but I'm not loving the outcome.
The enthusiasm in March/April re vaccines has definitely been dinted.
For me what Id like ideally is a mild dose infection for me and my family.
So does everyone else im sure.
Wow, some major after-the-fact edits in the post...
Quote:
I use listerine advanced morning and night.
The manufacturer of Listerine confirms that
there no evidence-based clinical conclusions with regards to the anti-viral efficacy of Listerine antiseptic mouthwash
and
LISTERINE® Antiseptic is not intended to prevent or treat COVID-19 and should be used only as directed on the product label.
The article you added mentions it in context with 'in vitro' effectiveness.
Listerine is manufactured by a company named Johnson & Johnson. Not sure where I've come across the name of that Pharma company before... 💉
mono clonal antibody treatments at this stage
Vaccination is free, and triggers production of antibodies against Covid. Or, avoid that, get really sick, go to hospital, and get antibodies injected there.
maybe a few of the nasal sprays in development will work
I've heard from virologists as far back as a year ago that a long term perspective for vaccines is that they will become available in form of a nasal spray.
[To be clear: not questioning anything you say, I fully agree with your points..]
See welsh study.
Listerine advanced inactivated covid within 30 seconds in vitro.
Of course Listerine dont want to be a Covid cure.
Its not their business.
I'm delighted that trials are still underway. If people know that they're getting an experimental treatment and agree to join the study knowing the pros and cons, and are monitored by a doctor, then that's fantastic. And maybe one of these trials will hit upon a dose or frequency of ivermectin that works, who knows?
However, where we are now is that we have people claiming that it works with no reliable evidence of this, and poor suckers the world over are lashing ivermectin into themselves with no idea of what they're taking, how much they should take, whether it's a treatment or a prophylactic...
As of now, the reliable data says it doesn't work. The used-car-salesman data says get it into you.
Actually it's more like>>
You: "despite warnings of ineffectiveness"
Me: "FDa has not said 'ineffective'. Effectiveness is currently an unknown."
You:
I haven't been following this.
If I am fully vaccinated but sick in hospital with Covid, is it likely that Ivermectin will help, do nothing, or make me worse?
Currently unknown.
Have you asked your doctor?
No, it's a hypothetical question.
Ah Jesus , this stuff is way out of control.
I don't think you believe an ounce of this stuff anymore tbh . I think you are bad faith arguing and doing so to not lose face .
It's nearly incredulous the self-built hills people are willing to die on rather than admit they don't know or are just wrong.
well, if you are a cow it'll work very well
I'm not a cow. Does it reduce the effects of Covid-19 / Sars-CoV-2 in cows?
suppose you'd have to ask the cows
According to this in-vitro study
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18314244/
hot water extracts of coffee grinds and instant coffee solutions inhibited the multiplication of herpes simplex virus type 1, a representative enveloped DNA virus, when they were added to the culture medium of the virus-infected cells at a dose of one fifth the concentration suitable for drinking
I am therefore liberally applying a hot water extract of coffee grinds several times a day to prevent viral infections of my otorhinolaryngological spaces. Since SARS-Cov-2 is much more fragile than an enveloped DNA virus I trust that by applying a super-concentration five times greater than one fifth the concentration suitable for drinking, I will be fully protected against not only herpes, but Covid, gout and the vapours.
Nobody has proved this approach ineffective.
So I guess the answer is it's likely to do nothing. Fair enough.
Well let's see. Try asking your health care professionals? And not Facebook Jean or John. After all they are qualified to help you.
I cant believe people are eating horse medicine.
Thanks for confirming that this thread is as complete trash as Facebook. It used to be you could ask a question on boards and get an answer without it being absolute scutter.
The long answer is;
So as of now, there is no reason to believe it works but there are still plenty of trials ongoing which may yet turn something up.
Thanks. Good summary.
Deaths from Covid are high if you are obese, regardless taking vaccine or other treatments.
He was obese so had one of the known health issues which put him in the 'vulnerable' category.
Sadly he died and his health issues were a major contributing cause to a bad outcome.
Why are you asking an internet forum for Medical advice. Medical advice has been banned on boards. It's absolutely nuts you won't talk to your healthcare professionals who have your history and your current status and vitals. They are who you should be guided by. Not a single person on a thread anywhere.
It's out of hand frankly.
Yeah an obese guy dies from Covid, shock! horror!
Get a grip.
