It’s a tiny minority expressing that view. It’s like smoking, it’s bad for you, will increase your likelihood of illness and early death, but those who get ill from smoking are given the same treatment as anyone else. Does not stop us doing everything we can to persuade people of the benefits of quitting and designating specific areas as no smoking areas. I don’t hear many people claiming their rights are being infringed by not being allowed to smoke in a restaurant.
A lot of the comment we get here on vaccination is similar in quality to the old “my neighbour smoked 40 a day and lived to 90” excuse that some used to employ to justify continuing to smoke
Anyone refusing medical treatment to a seriously sick person because they didn't follow an instruction is putting themselves outside of a long tradition of humane medicine.
From the hospitals of the middle ages up in until the present. Many of our hospitals, and ones in the US, are named for Christian saints. Condemning people to death because they didn't follow bureaucratic advice isn't something that we do.
I hate that every time I look at this site there's always some evil sentiment being expressed. It's like a wellspring of badness.
How are people so morally broken that they think that don't understand basic right and wrong? Seriously, listen to your inner voice of conscience and not some warped idea of rule-following.
One of the contributors to the hospitalisations not falling as much is some people are now being admitted because vaccination has given them a chance
He talks about it here brickster
Lowest point of disease in late September
No idea where people are getting that from. Maybe best to look at dates for a peak with some pessimism and if they are wrong happy days.
Two days ago they did a presser and from 1 hr 16 in they clearly talk about the time frames they expect for peaks and then when things will be coming down.
Don’t worry about it
Nolan on NPHET says it will peak here in 2 weeks
All good 👍
Going by the figures you’d have to be worried. Grim reading considering the high vax rate. Overall vibe - depressing.
750 in ICU in Israel now with 80% of adults fully vaxxed. Unfortunately our puny decrepit health system would crumble under that and may well have us back into lockdown in winter ...

The schools effect in the UK and elsewhere is puzzling seeing as the HSE has insisted throughout that they are a low risk area here.
Last school year was mostly pre Delta.
It's a shame vaccinations for 12-15 didn't start until two weeks before schools are due to reopen, with a lot of people away on holidays. Mine are only getting vaccinated today after registering on the last day of our holiday 8 days ago (didn't want to register too early and then cancel if we got quick appointments).
Then again there are way more under 12s than over, but I guess their parents are likely to be fully vaccinated by now anyway.
I don't think a schools driven surge is inevitable but it looks like a fine balance.
bollox
Hospitals are not even at flu numbers with 2,000 cases a day. People with underlying illnesses with the vacinne are still going to be hospitalized.
Unless the hospitals get completely overloaded I can't see it happening.
If we go back into lockdown with vaccines available and so many people vaccinated the government are basically saying we are fucked and this is it for the foreseeable. I can't see it happening
What happens if the hospitals are over run with unvaccinated and the vaccinated only account for say 20% of those hospitalised, it would be crazy to lockdown the unvaccinated and similarly crazy to freely treat people refusing the vaccine by choice.
Exact same as lastyear . Gradually ease restrictions and lockdown in October or November.
Wish when we do fully reopen the conception of lockdowns will need to be gone but we all know the media won't let it go
People's mental health has been damaged and you'd have to fear the word 'full lockdown be coming with Hospital capacity at an all time high' and the likes will drive people over the edge
New direction full on needs to be 'personal responsibility' and leave it at that, no micro managing our lives with this and that shut
They better offer PUP of thousand euro a month, otherwise I am not buying this shite anymore
We should be hugely concerned if countries have huge numbers vaccinated and are even considering the idea of a circuit breaker lockdown. Its really important that governments start to learn that closing businesses is not helping and no longer has public support.
If we still need lockdowns after vaccines then you'd have to say they could be a permanent measure. And that level of uncertainty will lead to a huge crash eventually.
So you have no evidence that vaccines are ineffective? pathetic.
Winter is the real test
They've had it easy till now
We will get the real data then and yes I will gladly show it
Au revoir
You're going to bring up my post about you saying that vaccines are ineffective if there's another lockdown? What warped logic is that.
If in the future, if you have some data, any data, that shows vaccines are ineffective, bring it up, in fact, seeing as you're saying it now, either post that evidence or admit you are lying about vaccines being ineffective.
Hospitals here where always very busy here but no problem lockdown from monday onward fine with me
If they were effective Scotland and Israel wouldn't be warning about bringing back restrictions
Look you can keep your head in the sand and believe what you want, but the truth is 2% of cases are still ending up in hospital here and cases are going to grow when schools open which will lead to hospitals getting very very busy
Hospilisations have went up 1100% in 7 weeks in the middle of summer
We had 40 in hospital early July, 326 today. Last August 2020 with no vaccine's we had 20 in hospital
I am going to bring up your post here in 2 - 3 months when restrictions come back and I hope you will apologise and admit you were wrong
I hope I am wrong and will apologise to you if restrictions don't come back and covid is beat.
Your personal bar for proof must be very low, but that doesn't excuse you spreading lies about vaccine effectiveness. Vaccines have both saved thousands of lives in Ireland and are continuing to save thousands of lives as Ireland exits lockdown restrictions at a very high vaccination %. To say otherwise is completely disingenuous and a lie.
If Scotland or Isreal go back to lockdown that's all the proof I need and all those studies you want me to link will have been pointless.
80%+ fully vaccinated adults and talking about circuit breakers in Scotland and refusing to rule out restrictions is absolutely insane
Will you stop posting such rubbish:
"The good thing about the vaccine ineffectiveness we are seeing"
The numbers are saying otherwise, consistently.
If you have data showing that vaccines are ineffective post it, or start retracting or dialling down your statements.
You accused me of moving goalposts yesterday and were proven completely wrong, yet today you're still pushing the same lies.
Yeah enforcing it will be impossible this, they'll try though
I think that's doubtful. Our efforts to date have not seen any reversals and whatever else we might say about them they don't want to do so. The schools effect in the UK and elsewhere is puzzling seeing as the HSE has insisted throughout that they are a low risk area here.
And Ireland is at least 6 weeks or so behind the UK with Delta. Look at Germany and Eastern Europe maybe they are 3 months behind.
I see the latest is no circuit breaker lockdown planned ...
Lockdowns won't work again, there is no sell with vaccines anymore as they've gotten to pretty much the best point with them.
time to live with it.
Scotland is going back into lockdown, so soon we'll follow their example.
