How do you know it didn't cause Kevin McLoughlin to go down? At the speed he was running at? It's 100% a pull down. I don't see any disparity with the rules..
I think you mean - David Hickey, and, erm, well - no, only David Hickey.
With it not being anonymous to the Mods, I'm sure they would forward the details of a poster that was deemed to have libelled a person to the relevant authorities on request.
Wouldn't be like the dubs to pull the legal card when things aren't going their way.
OT:
Listening to offtheball and they're writing Dublin off. I know Dublin had a very biased referee and Mayo deserved to win in normal time but the thing is they've always had a biased referee. It's been the case since the mid 00's. Next year it will be the same in leinster and outside.
You'd need to pull their games out of Dublin to have any chance of a fair ref and that won't happen for most games.
So my prediction is they'll walk leinster again, win their semi final and prob regain Sam next September. Come 2022 I'd fancy them again.
Everyone's acting like a new era is upon us but it's more like 2010 imo where meath momentarily disrupted the Dublin dominance.
Is that how it works? Really?
I must read the charter
🤣 Reading through the last 2 pages, some of the Dubs posting here have really made a show of themselves. The same as that Hickey fella with his nonsense. It comes from the top though, anyone who read the Dublin County Boards CEO report from 2019 will know what I mean. Always the victims despite huge evidence to show that they're anything but.
No mention of any action against John Small as yet? It doesn't reflect well on our association if the thuggery shown by Small goes unpunished.
I know most of us don't sit down with a pen and paper. I'm asking you to do so but I'm in no way surprised with your reply.
I'm asking you to do that to tell us of all of these incidents that occurred which show a bias against Mayo from the ref. Prove it happened because absolutely no one - with the exception of your Pillars and Hickeys (who are clowns anyway) - saw the match as you did.
Hickey has absolutely no grace or class, either in victory or defeat.
How he can single out so called Mayo transgressions, but yet remain completely oblivious to a crunching head high tackle that sent someone to hospital, two occassions where Dublin players can be clearly seen lamping Mayo players off the ball.
"None so blind as those who will not see" or perhaps "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye" would be apt descriptions for him.
Then again he was part of team that decided hospitalisation was a good way to deal with a Kerry attacker in 1975.
Surprised not to see more of a mention of it but wasn't Byrne clearly pushed for the dodgy 45 which then should never have been given in the first place.
Too honest. Should have fallen over like the majority of the other bowsies were at all day 🍋
Clowns.... ok so the level of the debate has gone from wanting a play by play of the Mayo schanigans that went unsanctioned by the worst refereeing performance at this level in decades to calling people giving an honest and accurate apraisal of that Mayo / refereeing shitshow.... 'clowns'. Hmmm ok
Only two that I know of who have come out with that nonsense, care to share any links of other media/journalists who share the same view as these two (and yourself)?
Or is that too much to ask?
Unbelievable nonsense.
Its too much to ask for you to google ? Errrr ok :)
Should not have been still on the pitch anyway so bit of karma it seems
Hickey and Pillar Caffrey, both as subtle as sledge hammers. Absolute pain in my hole listening to Pillar Caffrey all week all over radio stations and TV. A manager who had every advantage going while he was in charge of Dublin yet he failed. Why is he seemingly spokesman for all things Dublin GAA.
turn off the radio stations then
You should ask the media entities that get him on.
---
Anyway, rumour has it that this Championship still has another game or two left in it...
Remember caffrey ran across the pitch and shoulder an opposition coach in the back? Tells a lot about him as a person. He is pig ignorant - the complete opposite of what the dubs needed and isn't fit to lace the boots of gilroy or gavin
Just letting everyone know, I’ll be at both the 2nd semi final and the final of the football and the final of the hurling. Hoping for great games.
Strumms you need to get off this and stop making a show of yourself. Your the only one on here looking like a clown. Your saying Mayo got away with stuff that you cant back up. Look ye got beaten fair and square. Yes ye were the better team in the first half but after that Mayo were the better team and deserved there win and hopefully they can go on and win it now. When things were going against the Dubs they started acting like thugs. Both Small and McCarthy should have gotten red card. Sounding very bitter there lad 🍋
Some stamina and doggedness in fairness. Dessie should have thrown him on in extra time.
Only in the halfpenny league with the lads in the Dominance thread in fairness. Keep it going Strumms.
More's the pity. A penalty shoot out would add some excitement to GAA. I am thinking of the Euros and so on. Great drama. This is where the GAA can not compete with football. It is very very rare to see exceptional goals in Gaelic. No goals are really exceptional at all. That may explain why there is no 'goal of the month' for example as the quality is not there.
I also never see a leading goal scorers table like in the Premier League. Why is that I wonder? Is it not an important thing? I would like to know who the leading goal scorer is, at a glance and regularly in the newspapers, just like the PL.
The coverage of the game was poor I thought. I was waiting a fair while to see replays in slow-motion and close up of fouls. It took ages. When the free was retaken because of something that happened off the ball-it took ages for them to show it again.
For those who were saying O Shea was on the pitch well before the ref blew for full time. It is clear to see he only came on when Lane blew up and thankfully common sense has prevailed.
"However, it’s clear from replays that O’Shea entered the field after referee Conor Lane had blown for full-time"
Is this a wind up?
He's a big thick ignoramus. Hillgate 2006 and his shoulder into the back of Morrison, the Mayo selector, sums him up. You get a lot of his type in An Garda Siochana.
GAA isn't the Premier League, which restarted over the weekend. It has it's own thread here.
Am referring to
lack of great quality goals in Gaelic football.
Sub standard TV coverage ie lack of efficient TV replay of controversial incidents.
Lack of readily available stats about all GAA matters in the newspapers. Leading goalscorers for example. I would like to know and read about that. Someone said that J Canning (I think it was him) was the leading scorer in All Ireland hurling championship. I find that incredible. Surely people like Eddie Kehir scored more.
Lads, remember that other lad who came in here telling us that he knew little about the GAA, barely watched any games but this is "how things should be done"?
Anyway Bobby, here's a fine goal scored in the All Ireland Final Replay 2019. Possibly the finest goal I've ever had the pleasure to witness in Croke Park:

so do you expect every journalist who commented also in print or in interviews to post video links as well ? To satisfy your demand ? Every poster here the same ? Those who didn’t are ‘clowns‘... ? . :) I don’t need to back anything up. Hundreds of posters relate their views on sporting contests here, without feeling a need to trawl the inter webs looking for videos to ‘back up’ their views...your credibility is a little blown as is anyone’s who are not interested in discussion or debate rather just throwing insults at people... you disagree with what I’m saying all good and well but at least some of us can put a view across, agreeing or disagreeing with whomever without stooping to your levels.... :)
Andy McEntee claims Meath player was 'spat on in the face' during defeat to Kildare (the42.ie) Id prefer a dunt in the back than this to be honest.
