Wow, that really opposite of the norm lately? 33 days is long.
I know, very annoying. Another 2 weeks after the appointment to be considered fully vaccinated then 🙄 Also a pain travelling an hour down the road to Sligo for an appointment when there's a vaccine centre less than 10 mins from me in Leitrim!
Hi folks, anyone aware of which vaccines being administered Citywest tomorrow (Sun 8th)? Bit of confusion around my second dose appointment. Many thanks!
For the second dose they will just be administrating the same as your first dose. And only if you have an appointment.
For those getting their first dose they are giving pfizer .
Thank you..I was hoping they may be administering Moderna - tomorrow should have been day 28 for second dose of it but they changed my appointment to earlier in week which I was unfortunately unable to make
Registered my 16yo son late Wednesday evening, and he had his first jab today (Enniscorthy)
What happens if one misses their second vaccine appointment? Is it automatically rescheduled?
I believe with Pfizer, you're considered fully vaccinated once you've had both jabs, and it's 35 days since your first vaccination.
Perhaps it's similar for Moderna?
Have they slowed down the rate at which they are administrating the second dose? It seemed like CityWest were flying through the second jabs until last week and have since slowed down.
Havnt heard of anyone getting their second Pfizer appointment recently in Citywest.
No, the HSE consider you fully vaccinated 7 days after the second Pfizer dose, and 14 days after your second Moderna dose, 14 days after your second AZ dose, or 14 days after your first (and only) J&J dose. https://www2.hse.ie/screening-and-vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/get-the-vaccine/when-you-have-been-vaccinated/.

2nd dose: Just got 2nd dose text today for 20th August UCD

Pretty sure it's not. Think you need to phone the helpline. Otherwise they do not know if you have been unable to attend, or simply cannot be bothered going for the 2nd test. If someone misses one they may well miss another.
Neighbours young lad
Age 15
Appointment local Gp,this Thursday 12th
1st dose pfizer
Must be one of if not the first at that age in the country
I think some kids whose parents work at Pfizer got dosed months ago
And there were 15yr olds done as part of cohorts 4 & 7.
Still, great to see it all the same!
13 year old booked in for Friday in GP , he has additional needs and underlying health issues. We have discussed it with his various doctors and specialists and all have said the benefits outweigh any negatives and they have studied the various clinical trials and are happy to recommend him getting it.
It will be a huge relief after spending the last year and a half trying to protect him from covid . I obviously know he could still get it but symptoms and outcome might not be as devastating after getting the vaccine.
Has anyone got an appointment for the 12 to 15yr olds through the portal yet?
I registered 15 yr old at 10:30ish last night and got his appointment for Saturday morning 30 mins ago. He’s going to read the patient leaflet before I consent, he had said yes but when I read out the myocarditis rush he wavered a bit.
Does he normally get given the patient leaflet if you give him a paracetamol? Reading the patient leaflet gives the most depressing information, many of us wouldn't dream of taking a Nurofen if we read the leaflet.
I presume you told him there's a higher chance of myocarditis from Covid than from the vaccine?
He read the leaflet and we talked about the higher incidence of myocarditis from Covid so said he’d be happy getting the vaccine. And yes we do discuss side effects of medications.
Poor lad. Must be headwrecled from all the leaflet reading!
Right so!!!!🙄
Every body is entitled to read a leaflet about medication or vaccines they are taking without being ridiculed
Fair play to that Mum and the lad for informing themselves
Does anyone know what time the Aviva Stadium centre opens at each morning? Can't seem to find it anywhere online
