€60 is still a lot to spend on something I may not play!
I understand that, as much as I am looking forward to it, I’ll need to know that its not insanely difficult before I buy it. Got stung with Sekiro.
The boss fights in Sekiro where definitely a step up in difficulty.
I find Dark Souls to be harsh but fair and judging by the trailer I would expect Elden Ring to be similar.
Well the devs have said it will be easier and have options to help but not a difficulty mode, can't remember where exactly i saw that but it sounds like they've learned from Sekiro. I love a Souls game but Sekiro lost the balance between fun and difficult for me.
What made Dark Souls 1,2,3 and BB much easier than Sekiro was that when all else failed you had the summoning mechanic.
Agreed. I usually play through the games offline the first time around but I enjoy PvP and Co-op so hope that there will be plenty of it in Elden Ring.
Given the gameplay mechanics of Sekiro I can sort of understand why it was single player. Some of the bosses would have been very trivial if you and another player could just gank them.

I fear much of my time with this game is going to be spent finding the best landscapes to take screenshots of the eerie neon trees.
Not sure if the gameplay will be for me but it does look stunning, very tempted to give it a try. Price wise €60 in Smyths but €75 in Gamestop :o
Ah but with Gamestop, you get the added bonus of being asked if you want to insure your disk and also if you want to pay for level 3 membership. You don't get that set Smyths do ya!
For me this looks like the good bits of Sekiro (open world and movement) mixed with classic Dark Souls. Also looks like a bit of Witcher thrown in. Loving the spirit horse and weapons. Added bonus of the celtic demigod. Cannot wait to play this.
Also talking pot-people, and dragon hands. Essential components.
Looking forward to this a lot. Only recently finished DS3 for the first time so if Elden Ring is an open world version or more, I'll be happy out.
Watching Vaati's video on it, one thing I didn't like was how the trees in the distance were bouncing up and down in the wind, they looked silly. Bit of a nitpick but still off-putting. Not sure if the link below works but it was at the 4:20 mark:

I actually thought they had gotten Vaati to voiceover when the narrator started talking, missed opportunity there.
Cant wait for this, the only nit pick id have (and I havent played sekiro, so that might be the same) is the lack of fall damage.
The souls games are very much a crafted experience in that there are paths you're funneled into by not having complete free reign of movement. I wonder will it lose a little something if you can throw yourself off any ledges with reckless abandon.
I waited to see the footage today and missed the pre order video. All Collectors Editions SOLD OUT!

EDIT - I managed to get it preordered for PS5 on Gamestop. I can only hope they dont act the maggot like they did with my PS5 pre-order!
