Commission proposal for a common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens
The ultimate goal of a vaccination passport would be to ensure that children who move between countries with different immunisation schedules do not miss out on crucial vaccinations. A similar scheme is already in place for pets and has helped boost vaccination rates, according to the European Commission.
There is. The very won't become valid until the vaccine is valid/fully protected. It won't scan afaik.
Dose 2 received at 930am yesterday morning
Cert received in my email at 426am this morning!!!
Thought there was a 7 day wait to be fully protected??
My 2nd jab was on 6th July, and my cert arrived in my email around 6am this morning. Haven't scanned it yet but it looks correct. Phew!
She got her cert straight away? Or did it say 5 working days?
Just tried the portal 30 minutes ago. Entered my details. pressed submit and "processing" on screen since. Typical cluster£cuk like everything else with this country.
Finally managed to submit my details after multiple captcha issues. Tells me to ring the helpline. **** useless.
Edit: I take it back! It appears that the online form (shite as it is) seems to have taken the pressure off the phone lines. Rang and got through in less than a minute.
My mrs never got a cert emailed to her, used that new online portal earlier this morning & got her cert with no issues
I had the j&j vaccine yesterday at 1.15pm and just received my cert in an email
Managed to fill out my details on the portal and it said it will send my cert to my email within 5 working days.
Got all the details filled in and it said to call the helpline anyway. Not sure what use that is!
total clusterfluck
The website's down already, server crashed.
I've been trying it for about 20 mins now. Keeps crashing. Basic errors like captchas not loading properly.... not very surprising.
Thanks for sharing, https://www.covidcertificateportal.gov.ie/ seems down already though :(
Details about the new portal here: https://www.gov.ie/en/service/035a8-how-to-get-your-eu-digital-covid-certificate/
RTE news at 5pm and 6 pm sais a new portal had opened today for online queries but didn't give any details of how to access it. I can't see anything online. Son vaccinated 5th July and no sign of cert. Other son's has incorrect dob
It's in the new regulations as an acceptable form of proof for indoor dining and I don't see any reference to the gap until fully protected.
You can get them from here, it's S.I. 385.
They were working last weekend, sat & sun, and yes both times I called they were english :)
Can anybody offer advice , I’m travelling back and fourth to the UK from Dublin in two weeks , double vaccined since July 6th but no cert yet . I tried phoning the helpline but got no answer
Is coming into ireland from the UK the same as other countries - with the cert no test required but without a cert you need a pcr test 72 hours prior to arriving ? Why can’t the vaccination cards work to enter ireland ! It’s a shambles
So if the vaccine card is valid for use then I presume that can be used in lieu of the DCC while waiting for the DCC to go active after the 2nd jab?
I wonder is the helpline open weekends, Or the bank holiday?
the two times I called , i got through to ladies with English accents maybe just a coincidence or are they based in the U.K. out of curiosity..🤔
I rang last week, was told I would have it within 5 days. It never came so I rang this afternoon again.
Got through after 1hr 50mins, talked to someone, on hold on and off several times, apparently there was an 'issue at their end' , now processed again with the corrected details and should have it in 5 days. (the second name on their end was spelled incorrectly DESPITE me going through it all last week)
Its worth trying again as I suspect I would never have gotten it (assuming they got it right this time around)
Roll on the automated version.
Rang at exactly 8.30 this morning and at around 10, I got the 90 minutes message so was thinking of giving up but someone did answer at 10.15. Was told my cert will be there within 5 days so fingers crossed it will and I never have to call them again...
Lads has anyone gotten their cert updated on the helpline? It's now 9 days (7 working days) since we got through and asked for an update but no sign of the cert yet.
It's acceptable for use in this country because there's specific legislation saying it's a valid form of proof. Sure it's easily fakeable but that's not the problem of someone using it legitimately.
Yes, I agree and this is why I am confused and was taken aback. I suppose my main point is regardless of your status, how is it possible the HSE card acceptable for all the reasons pointed out, but yes, it could be poor journalism. I have both, not travelling but when I saw this, I was thinking of all those who missed flights, couldn't get certs on time etc.
Malta certainly were not. I accept some countries may not be following what was intended, namely a Digital Cert and I do stand to be corrected but the impression I got from various announcements, Guidence etc was the Digital certs was way to open up travel throughout the EU, millions has been spent on implementing this idea, seems very odd a piece of non discript card is now acceptable. I guess my point is the utter confusion and mix messaging is quite extraordinary and unacceptable
Those who are fully vaccinated do not need to have a Digital Covid Cert to dine indoors.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar said today that the HSE vaccination card is also acceptable proof of immunity.
However, those looking to dine indoors may be asked to present a photo ID to show that it is their cert or card.
This is also the same for travelling within the EU. If someone hasn’t received their Digital Covid Cert yet they can use their vaccination card as proof to travel.
It's a separate statement in the same article, on first impressions it appears to be something he said but I think it's just poor journalism, or intentionally misleading. As I said before the article seems to be cobbled together from a press release and something he said on Twitter, neither of which mention using the card for travelling.
Certainly, this article has been updated since I originally posted it, no changes in what Leo said
Well people seem to be making up their own rules! I have both but haven't tried it yet myself.
On the DCC cert, people that are resident in a hotel can dine and drink whether they are vaccinated or not, but someone can't go into the same hotel for their lunch or a coffee, without having the DCC, so I could be unvaccinated but staying in a hotel, and someone who is vaccinated could be sitting opposite me, assuming I too am vaccinated! Apologies if I'm wrong, but I haven't seen any change to that farce of rule.
