Do you have the same level of expertise and experience of Zappone? No, I very much doubt it.
Just read up on her involvement in community organisations in Tallaght for example. Real work helping real people get out of poverty. Did much more hands-on work than any of those looney PBP types.
Oh, you seen the job specs...any chance of a link?
P.S. She's not the only person to work in communities as far as I know.
Founded 'An Cosán', back in 1986 and it became Ireland's largest community education organisation. Helping thousands of people get out of the poverty trap.
Her work with the LGBT community is well known, including bringing a case to the High court to recognise same-sex couples for tax purposes, long before it was fashionable to do so.
You can say what you want, but her life is littered with examples of honest public service. She isn't some nobody plucked from some FG gene pool family, in fact, she has nothing at all to do with the FG party.
Literally thousands similarly qualified.
The appointment stinks Mark, it has zero to do with her qualifications.
Thousands of people founded a community organisation which is now the largest community education organisation in the country?
Like who?
I find it incredible that some people are here defending this on any level. But not surprised with who, as it also answers why.
Just looking at her profile, it's hard to argue against her qualifications for this role.
Education:
A PhD from Boston College
A MA from the Catholic University of America
A MBA from UCD
Work Experience:
Founded An Cosan in 1986 and is now Irelands largest community-based education organisation
Member of the Irish Human Rights Commission
Chief Executive of the National Women's Council of Ireland
Lecturer in Ethics, Theology and Education in Trinity
Served as a Senator from 2011-2016
Served as a Minister for Children and Youth Affairs from 2016-2020
Her work on both the Marriage Equality and Abortion referendum speaks for itself.
So, if she is not qualified, who is more qualified?
Ah another typical answer. Invent something I said...rail against it.
You never did show us the job spec for this post. Any links to it? Or are you as usual just pulling FG protective stuff out of the air.
You said there are thousands of people like her.
I just asked for one name.
It is ok, if you cannot provide me with one. :)
Show us these job specs you have seen and I'll name any number of suitable candidates.
There are thousands of people working hard in communities in this country 'like her'.
I asked who is more qualified, you failed to provide an answer. Any answer in fact.
It's ok, if you cannot.
You'd have to wonder if LEo and herself even see eye to eye, seeing as he was pretty much the polar opposite....
He hasn't refused. He has offered to do an interview in September. We are still in a pandemic if you hadn't noticed.
That tweet had (1) on it, here is (2)

"He hasn't refused. He has offered to do an interview in September"
Are you reading a different tweet to the one you linked to?
Might......isn't an offer.
And I asked you to show us the jobs specs required. You must know what qualifications are required after all if you believe her the best candidate.
And I repeat, the qualifications are NOT the issue here but the manner of the appointment. That is why it is Varadkar, Coveney and Martin in the spotlight.
Wasn’t the Cosan graduation where the infamous Jobstown incident took place?
How did that factor into the deliberations for the position?
He wont go on....hes been asked several times to do so
I know, you know it,lets not waste anyones time in pretending he will
we dont matter to em down here and one thing sure as fcuk, they dont care about us
Imagine feeling yous have to blindly defend and justify, whats gone on here🤣🤣
But he said he will go on. Another storm in teacup from the permanently outraged.
Twas just an observation, Frankie. It was the first time she came to my attention. A white haired lady trying to calm a very volatile situation.
The issue here is that loads of people didn't realise she wasn't a member of FG, they had already flew off the handle before that nugget was revealed to them. The other one was the "huge" wages she was going to be on, then realised it was 15k before tax.
It's the usual internet storm by the exact same people, all while the rest of Ireland looks on and laughs at them.
Who 'didn't realise she wasn't a member of FG'? Or who talked of the 'huge wages'.
She was a member of government, and a Minister. And the 'issue' is the manner of this appointment by renegade (the Taoiseach wasn't informed) current government ministers and how it stinks of cronyism and arrogance.
It wasnt an observation, it was a question you asked.
Look at the main thread and all the comments about FF/FG till it was pointed out, same had to be done here. Plus how many times was wages mentioned on the same thread, it had to be repeated every few posts to confirm.
Lets get this correct it is 15k a year for a maximum of 60 days work. Stop with the spinning.
You were asked a question...failed to back up.
And so what if some thought she was in FG?
Where did he say "he'd definitely go on"? Did you not read the tweet you linked to, and I embedded in full?
You wouldn't be purposely trying to misrepresent what Donnelly will do/might do would you?
But that is not correct is it? is it 15k before tax
it is 15k for 60 days work. Not for a year for 60 days.
