Commission proposal for a common vaccination card/passport for EU citizens
The ultimate goal of a vaccination passport would be to ensure that children who move between countries with different immunisation schedules do not miss out on crucial vaccinations. A similar scheme is already in place for pets and has helped boost vaccination rates, according to the European Commission.
It kinda went without saying really.
The wait time to be considered vaccinated is well known and its been well advertised what was considered fully vaccinated for domestic vaccine bonus
More or so getting my cert 2 days after vaccination confused me a little
Not the only one i imagine
Why would a certificate of vaccination be valid before you're fully vaccinated?
You were accusing them of a "boo boo" sending it out early, so you obviously knew the rules, you're just annoyed they didn't work in your favor....
Yup
This might be an odd one... Has anyone received two certs??
I got my cert in the post last week... all the info on it looked correct and I uploaded it to the Covid Tracker app. Then today another cert arrived in the post.
For anyone familiar with the cert, only the very last digit in 'unique certificate identifier' is different on the two certs, and the QR code looks different. But everything else is the same.
Any thoughts why I received two?
Mid September by the times collages are back id reckon all over 18s will be fully vaccinated and have valid Covid Certs
I was vaccinated on July 16th, and I am due to fly out July 30th which is exactly 14 days since my vaccination. I have my DCC, but does anyone know is there a certain time that my QR code will change to valid? I’m a bit worried as flight is at 7am.
Mine changed at valid at 00:00 on the 7th day (Pfizer). Yours should be 00:00 as well.
Apologies if this has been asked already but is there an up to date waiting time available for the paper cert?
Girlfriend got second shot today and doc submitted the details to hse while she was still there.
Thanks all.
got my cert emailed today at 07:35am
so a quick turn around.
Got my 2nd dose last Wednesday in the GP and haven't received it yet so no idea.
Edit: Must be a jinx or something but literally just after I posted this an email landed in. So a week for me
When registering via the portal for the vaccine, they ask for your “first name” but then uses this information for the “First name(s)” field on the cert.
I am now in a situation where the cert doesn’t have my middle names.
Does anyone have the same issue? Did you travel to other countries without problem?
That is fine I think, similar to booking flight tickets.. you don't need to include your middle name(s) when booking a flight ticket. Some people have a lot of that them that won't fit on any form or ticket.
Anyone know if you can add the cert to your Apple Wallet and how to do so if it is possible?
Daughter rang at 8.30am. still on hold, now it's 10am.
She'll have to go to work soon.
This system is farcical.

thanks a mil
I think the problem lies in getting the covid cert to match the passport.
it will match on first name, surname and date of birth. that will be enough.
Update: 6 hours and 23 minutes before anyone answered.
They have no record of my second dose so have to email in card and ID scans.
Simply disgraceful wait time.
Why on earth they can't be emailed is beyond me.
We're on the phone here now with 2 hours 25mins. There's simply no logical way these phonelines are this busy.
Continuation of my cert saga with GP involved. This time I was told by my GP that all details were sent to HSE by email (done yesterday) I assume it means that someone on HSE site has to enter them manually into relevant system. Does anyone with any knowledge of the process know how long does it take to do it? And how quick the certificate can be issued? Maybe HSE has an upload option so it will take less time? I’m just trying to give them few days before chasing them again but I was already told twice that they gave HSE data of all vaccinated in the practice where in reality they didn’t. So I’m a little unsure if to trust them this time.
Same - rang at 8.30, still on hold. I wonder if there is actually anyone working there? Has anyone actually gotten through?
They have gotten rid of the jazz music and now you have to listen to the voice message over and over again, argh I give up!!! I'm heading to France on Saturday to see my family and the pass is needed for pretty much everything over there, they will probably laugh at me if I show them my HSE card...
they probably wont laugh they just won't accept it
Just got through - 2hrs 48mins until answered. Rang at 8.30
Lovely lady on phone - told me that note saying still awaiting second dose. Gave her details, she has to send it over to HSE to confirm all is correct and they may issue cert. Slightly worryingly tho, was also told to ring gp to tell them to make sure they had sent through the details to HSE. Not sure the already overly worked gp’s are going to be pleased that that advice is being given out….
I know they won't...If I don't get my DCC by then, I will need to have a test everytime I want to have a drink/meal outdoors, go to the cinema or to a theme park, everytime I want to do something "fun" essentially, I will also need one to check in to our campsite. Fun times!! 🤪
So I get my second Pfizer jab this Saturday. Is the cert then valid 7 days after that?
For Ireland yes. If you intend on travelling to other countries though, double check as some require 14 days after the second dose.
But forwarding the details to the HSE is part of the GP's responsibility. How else are the HSE to be informed? Perfectly natural to follow up with the GP to first check as to whether they have informed the HSE as to what's been administered.
