Got text for 2nd Pfizer dose in Cork, 18 days after 1st dose.
You didn't by any chance rearrange your original appointment did you?
No was able to do the original appointment
I was just wondering if i go to it and they see that it's only 18 days that they'd say they made an error with it and ask me to come back again in 2 weeks time!! I think the minimum is meant to be 21 days!
Pfizer can be down to 17 days.
Cancel it. Pharmacist won't give you the J&J if they know you've had the Pfizer one for starters. Mixed dosing is not yet approved and if it is, it won't be approved like that either
Why would you do something that
1. Isn't apprived in Ireland yet
2. Compromise your health.
3. Compromise your pharmacy by not giving full information.
And what do you think it'll gain? Or do you know something more scientific than the medics do at this stage?
Cancel the pharmacy appointment and give it to someone who needs it. You're already halfway with your Pfizer and lucky enough at that.
Got a text confirming my J&J appointment from a pharmacy, however it says "over 50s" in the text despite me applying for the 18-34 and being 21, I emailed and called but no response yet, anyone else's text say that but they ended up being fine to get the shot anyway? Cheers guys
Second appointment for Pfizer here 18 days after the first in Citywest also. I had not re-arranged the first.
You're fine.
Most people I know getting J&J are around your age.
Keep the appointment, but ring just to confirm.
They probably never changed the text template. I'd be almost certain you'll be fine. The number of over 50s getting J&J in pharmacies at this stage must be tiny.
Appears the reschedule function is not working when you reply to the text appointment.l you can't make. I received a new text back after replying for another appointment time with same date/time as 1st.
Same thing happened to oh and a friend in last 3 days.
Called them(15 mins) and they said the message reply never reached them. Lady on phone had to cancel for me and said I will receive a new appointment.
I'm guessing other people in the same boat are not calling number and going down as no shows.
My SIL tried to cancel his HSE appointment as he had already got a vaccine from the GP . He phoned the helpline and got a lovely lady who thanked him for cancelling it .
He got three text after the cancellation with new HSE appointments .
When I was getting my first dose in Citywest a woman was brought to the top of the queue (she was right in front of me, I was due to go into the centre itself next) and she and one of the volunteers were explaining to the other volunteer in that section that she could go despite her appointment being the next day. I can't remember what reason she gave, if any, she just said there was no way she could make it tomorrow. She and the volunteer mentioned a woman's name saying she had given the ok and she was allowed in. I assume the woman they named was a supervisor of some sort, might be worth a try.
Thanks for that. Was hoping to hear of some flexibility out there. Think I'll give it a shot on Wednesday anyways. Will all depend on the person at the desk I suppose. Hope they're sound!
I meant to say it wasn't very busy when I went for the first one, plus it was in the afternoon, so that may have had something to do with it too.
Age 34
Registered on Thursday 22nd July (late evening). Confirmation text received Saturday 24th (morning).
Dates: 1st Vaccine Tuesday 27th July. 2nd dose not confirmed yet.
Venue: Castlebar - Breaffy House
Vaccine: Moderna
I'm same age, 1st on 4th July and 2nd on 29th like yourself. Yes, I was in and out in 30 mins on 4th July, a Sunday. I heard it's slow going in citywest these days at times. Hopefully not stuck there for hours.
4 weeks since first appointment today and no sign of second appointment yet which seems odd since everyone seems to be getting them after 3 weeks now. My first dose was in Croke Park.
How is people getting to the vaccine centres? I have an appointment Wednesday morning but it is going to be raining according to the weather, I am cycling as I don’t drive and I don’t want to get a taxi or public transport until I am fully vaccinated. I suppose I could play chicken with the weather 🤔
Hey, yeah in a similar position. First dose Croke Park too, Day 27 for me today. No word at all of an appointment. I wonder have the vaccinations been stopping at weekends due to all the GAA matches going on and that’s possibly slowing up the appointments. Not sure though.
I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one and I haven't somehow fallen through the cracks.
Age 39 - First Dose July 5th Citywest
Text today for second dose Thursday 29th in the afternoon in Citywest again.
24 days gap, just pleased to be getting it and starting to plan a holiday 😁
Here’s hoping we both get sorted soon.
Same here. Age 38, waited 3 weeks from registration for my first appointment on 12th July.
Then got text for second dose this afternoon, scheduled for Friday 30th so just 18 days between doses.
I wasnt expecting a text for at least another week.
Citywest & Pfizer
Go up to the vaccination centre tomorrow around 6pm and explain your situation. Ask politely whether there will be any spare vaccines and if they can fit you in early, and if they say no go up again the following day.
Thanks for the tips. I'll try this out tomorrow. My appointment is at Landsdown Road and just thinking back to the set up for my first jab I remember there was a fairly young fella with a clip board checking off people's names and appointment times at the entrance and then letting them inside the stadium. I wonder if I would even get past this guy if he doesn't take kindly to me. It didn't look like this chap had much authority there (too young). I wonder who I'd need to get chatting to that could actually make the call to schedule me in for the following morning? Any ideas? Sweat talk the clipboard guy in the hope that he lets me in to talk to someone with some authority?
I’m getting mine from my Gp, 21 day interval, just in time for my hollibops!
How do you mean? i texted "new" to defer and got the standard text back that they would let me know of new appointment. Should i ring them up?
Has anyone got their first jab at a centre, and a second jab from a GP? I’m thinking of doing this to avoid a 4 hour trip back to the centre where I got the first jab. Just wondering would I get my vaccination cert as easily or will it mess up the system by doing it this way?
