A few days away from the second Slam of the year. I guess for the men's Nadal has to be favourite. Is there anyone that beat him here? As for the ladies for me its wide open with 3 or 4 players that can win. I see Osaka has said she is not doing any press at the French Open for her mental health. I don't see her winning it.

Very entertaining finish to that match, both had chances to win it, but, Krejčíková was the more composed and calm player in the key moments, Sakkari was a bit too anxious on the big points.

The various camera solutions seemed to work fine in the other clay tournaments this year.

The margin of error is too high on clay, apparently.

Disappointing result for me again. Hopefully Pavlyuchenkova wins it now, but my kiss of death has been pretty strong this tournament so I expect Barbora will do it.

Okay. I’d just assumed all the grand slams used Hawkeye but I can see the point as to why they don’t use it when you think about it.

I think Djokovic's reaction last night after the match was a little over the top and slightly bizarre tbh, but, don't think it was disrespectful to Berrettini and tbh it probably didn't even register with Berrettini after losing the match. It's great to see the players get animated during the match and show some passion.

Funnily enough, I'm expecting an upset tomorrow. Records are made to be broken, and I think Nadals perfect SF record will be broken. Nadals dips in form (which he's had throughout the clay court season) will be exploited by Djokovic. I also think Djokovic has been building everything towards this - practicing dropshots, improving serve, etc. and if he executes to perfection tomorrow, coupled with Nadals dips in form, I can see him taking it.

However, I've been fooled many times by Nadal before, and if he plays the entire match like he did in the final set and a half vs. Schwartzman, then he will win. But I just don't think he has it in him to play to that consistently high level for 5 sets anymore. We shall see. One thing is for sure, the longer it goes on, the more it favours Djokovic.

First senior grand slam final for Pavlyuchenkova at age 29. Hopefully Sakkari wins the next semi. Wouldn't mind seeing Greece sweep the board this weekend, but that's probably a tad optimistic.

the crowd were far more pissed off with not being able to stay to watch the game than anything Djokovic would have done

if I was a player I would surmise that the Nadal constant OCD stuff that goes on for an entire match would annoy more than an outburst or two

If there was no emotion, the game would be so dull. If you look through the generations there were all sorts of top players having outbursts, McEnroe, Connors, Becker, Safin, Roddick etc. You cant just expect all players to act like robots. None of us can fully understand what it is like to be competing in that pressure cauldron they are experiencing.

I for one love the different personalities and the way they react to different situations. With Djokovic, he wears his heart on his sleeve and yes it can come across a bit much for some but he nearly always plays better after he has that release. All the top players have their ways of dealing with situations, Federer, Nadal and co all do it and put their opponents off in different ways.

I think the different personalities is what makes tennis interesting and the rivalries all the more intense.

I've no problem with players showing emotion on match point. They are competitive athletes after all. I'd much rather that the a shrug of the shoulder and a who cares attitude.

It was. And just like what Federrer did when he argued with the umpire and challenged Cilic in their match was either a conscious or unconscious attempt to distract and destabilise Cilic and the umpire and just like what Nadal did when he spoke to the umpire about staring the game shot too quickly. In fact, both of those were far more conscious acts.

I think Novak's was more just an in the moment release to make himself focus on even harder on how big that situation was.

But that's why those three players are so good. They are the ultimate competitor's. It's just instinctive with all 3. No one would tennis then if it just became a sport where showing emotion and frustration was completely outlawed.
