There isn't a lot of development selections in that Munster pack. It's not a great sign that Ryan and Archer are both in the 23 when Knox and Salanoa are available and desperate for minutes. A number of players who are leaving / most likely leaving are in the starting lineup.

Dan Goggin gets another start in the centre alongside our top three wingers in Daly, Conway and Earls to come off the bench. Casey starting at 9 with Murray getting a rest.

I was watching with no sound (not by choice) so didn't get an explanation for most of the penalties but too my eye he didn't seem too biased?

There was a couple of calls that were 50/50ish, a knock-on that wasn't too clear that ruled out Conway's try, and the Archer knock-on was brought back to check where the mic made it sound like the ref was intent on calling it a knock-on (he wasn't really it was just the way it looked).

Didn't think he was that bad, fairly poor stuff for CJ for a departing statement

like there was a few ruck entries midway through the 2nd half by JOD which i was surprised connacht didnt challenge too

Munster last maul try was illegal too as Holland well in front and could easily have been picked up by tmo. Backwards pass that was leading to likely Connacht try & 24-7 scoreline ruled out although as pointed out by another poster original turnover by Connacht may have taken ball illegally from ruck.

Both sides got wrong decisions against them as happens every game but nothing to merit as strong a statement as that by Stander.

Not so much biased, just wrong on quite a few occasions...and for both sides,
For me, the most frustrating performance from a referee in quite a while

JOD who's the same age as Dillane, who was only brought in after Coombes withdrew through injury and Wycherley on the bench.

I'm not even a Munster fan and I can see it's clear they give youth a chance.

I wonder was it a build up of stuff from Jones over a few games and Stander thought he’ll have a pop now. He also had words after the whistle at the Ulster game.

Quite possibly as it does seem very strong reaction and maybe a bit of frustration as I’m sure he would love to end Munster career with trophy.

Enjoyed that game, despite losing. Rainbow Cup is great craic so far, games involving the Irish teams anyway.

We had enough opportunities to win it and didn't take them, idiotic penalties and errors.

I've watched the knock on decision for the Conway try and I don't see anything clear and obvious. Munster can feel aggrieved at that one.

It was a tight one but of it wasn't a knock on then the ball was kicked into Archer so was accidental offside. And even if that didn't happen it was so hard to call that nobody can feel aggrieved. No team ever gets every tight call their way and if that's what they need to win games then they don't deserve to win them. That call wasn't some crazy decision thst clearly went against all evidence ending up as a wild miscarriage of justice. So Munster need to just get over it.

If you give away 2 sloppy trys, and then don't keep your discipline in the game....you're giving the officials a chance to come into play, and that doesn't always end well.
This defeat is on sloppy Munster play, but that doesn't mean the officiating has to be ignored ..we deserve better, it's that simple

That’s a different incident than the one Thomond is referring to tho, no?

Was there not also a Connacht hand at the breakdown searching for the ball? I couldn't see how it went forward - could have been a knock-on or a kick from Munster - but I thought it was at least possible that it was the Connacht player getting a hand to it and knocking it back towards themself.

That might be the least likely option but if it's not clear, you probably shouldn't be canceling the try.
