Think marvel / avengers / DC and make it x rated violence. No holds barred of gore , great character development, edge of the seat one more episode viewing. Very recommended

It tells the story of Daniel Jones, the Senate staffer responsible for the compilation of the Senate Intelligence Committee report on CIA torture. It seems we fell into a series of 9/11 related films - between Zero Dark Thirty (which gets a feature in the movie), The Mauritanian & this film. Compared to the foregoing movies, it delves into the background of the CIA's actions, how they were approved, who was behind them etc. Far from an "entertaining" watch, but definitely a strong film.

Overall a solid watch but suffers and all too familiar problem for many Hollywood films from the last few years in that it's twenty minutes too long. The torture scenes are particularly distressing. Jolie Foster and Tahar Rahim deliver very good performances but Benedict Cumberbatch who I do like is horribly miscast.

We need some middle ground between Prime's "find it/stumble on it yourself" attitude and Netflix's approach of we think you'll like this tv show/movie that just so happens to be our latest middle of the road production and matches your taste....honest.
