Sweden avoiding lockdown

Does Sweden have the right approach to this and how is their healthcare system being able to manage Covid19 cases?

What are the differences between Sweden and Ireland and why can’t we continue similar to how Sweden is managing Covid19?

I’m not suggesting either is right or wrong. I would just like to know how Sweden can continue as normal and other countries can’t. Thanks ðŸ˜Š

They look poor compared to other nordics and similar to Ireland WITHOUT stopping medical screenings and many other medical procedures and keeping their kids educated and their whole economy ticking.

Sweden fcuked up same way as everyone else by not sorting the retirement homes out quick enough.

Not sure why there is an obscene amount of people on here dying to wag the finger at Sweden, I think they’ll come out of this a lot better than others.....do you agree?

To your other point, yes Ireland actually is a massive success in general world terms in the grand scheme of things . There’s about 7 billion people who’d chop of their left arm to live here.

Halmstad municipal authority have said it was due to a lack of clarity.
"Our previous position was based on following the Public Health Agency`s recommendations".

Like other municipal and regional authorities in Sweden, they havenow decided to go their own way and let teachers wear PPE.

Everything still humming fairly well there and comfortably mid table on the deaths list, you can compare them to the worst or the best (as many do each way) but the facts show they are very mid table and that surely that equals a massive success

It looks like Portugal will sadly be another country to overtake Sweden in cumulative deaths per capita in the next few days. It seems to be part of a pattern where a country through heavy lockdown manages to avoid the worst of the first wave, however the sustainability of measures, combined with lack of immunity, result in a very bad second wave and overall higher deaths.

Close neighbours Norway and Sweden use the same system of counting.
I don't think Belgium on mainland Europe uses the same system.
But do check, maybe they do and we can use your numbers also.

Dreadful.

They should do the right thing and close schools altogether for about 3 - 4 months. Like us. Well, they ll never be like us, we shut down schools for 3 months last year and now at least another 3 months this year. 6 months out of last 9 schools shut down. Children's education or social skills dont matter. What matters is covid cases.

Who do they think they are not following covid religion?

Are they still announcing their numbers twice a week? Disgraceful. Public needs to be reminded of numbers every day. Regardless if cases are high or low. It adds a lot of benefit. Cases reduce if they are announced daily.

Last but not least - how dare they stop serving alcohol in restaurants after 8 PM?? Covid must be spreading fast there, probably 10% of population already dead. They shouldve done the right thing and kept restaurants closed for 7 months out of last 9 like us. 20% unemployment doesnt matter. What matters is covid cases. People would be much much happier without a job but with a vaccine, wearing masks, with low covid numbers in their countries, staying at home for rest of their lives, unemployed, safe. Fact.
