What does the future hold for Donald Trump? - threadbans in OP

I've seen two main options put forward on this forum, (1) that he'll remain a political force until the 2024 primaries start up and the Republicans have to take him seriously or (2) that he'll be so mired in litigation that he'll have no time for politics.

There are of course other options for the next 4 years - prison, exile, death or ill-health (he isn't young and he's been under stress), no politics but a business success, emperor. But it'd be an interesting exercise for people to lay their cards on the table now and make their predictions.

Personally I think his political influence will die quickly after the Capitol fiasco but someone else will emerge in 2 years, once the memories have waned, to be the standard-bearer for the QAnon wing.

There were definitely some cheeky angles used there to make it seem like there were a lot there, but I'm not sure it was big at all. The lack of masks was something else entirely. Jesus wept.

I don't agree with the idea that because he was booted off Twitter (and other platforms), he had no where to post his thoughts, because he was the President of the United States. He could have had a rolling feed up on whitehouse.gov, if he wanted, but I think it played a little better for him to act like he'd been silenced by a liberal big-tech cabal.

Have to agree. It's an odd feel of relief and stability as America was really at a tipping point. Disruption there affects the rest of us and global stability given they are the EUs greatest alliance partner.

Quite day at the office so I think I will take the rest of the day off and crack a few cold ones to celebrate.

To contrast, I noticed in the video of Biden and family landing in DC and getting off the plane. Not one single person, from family, to staff, to security, to press without a mask.

Lets see but he doesn't speak the way Trump does. He isn't so angry and aggressive - that's what I'm talking about. He is quieter in his manner and I think america and the world need that now.

Trump was so divisive, even his media interviews were aggressive. We need a calm head now, not agression.
