Feck it anyway, I was hoping to trade in my OG 500gb PS4 to CEX at some point before launch, but not for another month or so, and that's down to €124 now. Wouldn't be surprised at this rate if it's below 100 by PS5 launch, almost wouldn't be worth it at that stage and might just put it in another room like someone else said.

I suppose it depends on what price they are selling them at, €340 is pretty scandalous considering what they are paying.

thanks, they are defo more cryptic with the word 'Release' but who knows, just wondering how much they know about their console allocation.

My 7 year old loves playing Portal on an old Xbox 360 we have in a bedroom at home & we have a lot of fun with it.... I might play though Half-life 2 on it this Christmas.

At the end of the day the PS4 probably has more future use potential for people than the €124 offered.

Yep I missed out too but due to laziness as the closest one to me now is an hour or more some days

If it's any use their voucher prices are still ~180 for a slim so could be worth it and then wait a while for when they have a few ps5 games in stock! CeXs prices were inflated anyway due to covid so I'm not holding out on the PS4 ever rising to those levels again

I really do wonder how they make money at all with the prices they charge. When I was in the other day I noticed they sell PS4 controllers for €75 and north of it, while you can get one brand new on Amazon for under €50, and the prices in a Gamestop or Argos fall in the middle. Hoping to take advantage of those opting for the voucher instead of cash when trading in, I suppose.

Because a few weeks/months ago you couldn't get a controller new anywhere, they were all sold out everywhere except for used in cex which only had a few controllers left, so they raised the prices and we're giving close to 50 or them but obviously had to sell higher to make the same profit margins.

They can do pric changes daily if needs be, if the price hasn't dropped in a while it means they're still selling well at that price point. It's nuts but desperate people will pay desperate prices

Had a look on adverts before selling to CEX and it doesnt look like anyone is biting on a ps4 pro, most people after a pro would probably wait for a PS5 anyways, might be more uptake on the OG PS4

Hi guys following this thread since night of the showcase, feel like I need to thank ye because like alot of people I assumed preorders werent going live till the next morning I had checked a few times after the showcase was over and and when there was nothing said id wait till the morning...
It was only by having a nose on here around midnight I realised Smyths had gone live and managed to get a PS5 Disc for instore collection on launch day!

I also went a bit mad and PO an extra controller, charging station and headset ðŸ˜‚

Gameswise Ive ordered Black Ops Cold War, thought that looked really good and will get the spiderman game aswell but cant decide on the regular or ultimate edition, ive already have the platinum trophy for PS4, not sure if id want to play through the whole game again

Ill need to sell my pro aswell I upgraded the hard drive to 2tb so might go down the adverts route instead of CEX, in no rush to sell awhile as I still have a few games to finish.

I'd have been snookered too if I hadn't been still on here after the showcase, managed to get a disc version for delivery from Smyths. Hopefully more pre-orders get released and others get sorted soon.

I was set on getting the remote and headset too, but the headset almost seems like too good a deal, so I'm wondering about the quality. Might hold off on reviews for that. Definitely gonna get Miles Morales but still undecided on getting the ultimate edition with remastered Spiderman. Again I might wait to see what the improvements are actually like, it would put a bad taste in my mouth to buy that again if it's not much different and I already have the PS4 version. I wonder if it'll get released separately after launch.

Argh, I was gonna say Game Collection as they were selling it for 65 pounds (71 euro) but all sold out.

Argos UK will be selling it for 70 pounds (76 euro) so will be similar over here.

I'll be keeping an eye on lowest price as well.

I suppose there will come a point when I realise it will be easier and cheaper to just pay the full amount in Smyths and pick it up at the same time as the rest of my stuff. I am pretty adamant that it is the first game I want to play on the PS5. I am also getting Cyberpunk that day but lets be honest, that is just gonna be a fancy PS4 version.

I'm the same, picking up Cyberpunk the same time as the PS5 but really want Demons Souls launch day so will get it argos if I can reserve it or from smyths if still available. I definitely won't make a habit of paying 80 for games but DS at launch will be an exception if it has to be.

I had just gotten a text of Smyths at this time also, of course I was selfish pre ordered right away but was then just about to jump in and post when I saw Wing had already done so.
