A normal person at full exercise intensity only uses around 70% of their lung capacity.

If a person's lungs are so completely and utterly wrecked that a tiny difference from wearing a mask causes issues, they should be hiding inside because they have serious problem and Covid will probably kill them.

Noticeable improvement of mask and face covering wearing in Lidl today. Different age groups too. No big effort required. Just people getting on with it.

One thing is the type, quality and design of the mask you’re using makes a HUGE difference.

Some of the reusable masks aren’t made from the right fabrics. I have a multi cotton / layer linen one which is absolutely fine to wear. No issues whatsoever. Surgical masks are also very easy to wear.

Also bought a Chinese made mask on Amazon back in March / April and you might as well be trying to breath through a plastic bag. It’s smothering and made from the wrong materials.

We also ordered some at work from an Irish company and they’re like speedos. Horrible to wear. Ended up having to order different ones.

A lot of the stuff for sale on amazon are Chinese anti pollution masks, most of them I’ve seen don’t look very effective and the purpose of what we are supposed to be wearing is really just a baffle to prevent direct jets of air, not a fine particle filter.

Just beware of ordering rubbish that looks like it will be cool online!

Stick to simple, breathable fabrics like cotton and linen and you’ll have very few issues wearing them.

Surgical mask are the way to go imo. They have been shown to actually work in preventing transmissions of viruses.

The CDC recently said they have not established a definitive difference in transmission rates between surgicals and n95s.

There seems to be plenty in supply again and they are reasonably cheap.

The only issue is the seal, which can be easily fixed. Somebody posted a video of a dentist here showing a quick way to improve the seal here a few pages back.

You could be right. It was 11. I usually wouldn’t shop until the afternoon/ evening.

They are making it compulsory for shops in England from next week. We won’t be far behind.
