Cops called because a guy was asleep in his car in the queue for a drive through.
Failed field sobriety test.
Tussled with cops.
Shot and killed.
Looks on the outset like another use of excessive Force by police, but there is so much more wrong with it.

One cop has been fired and the other is Put on leave.

Firing somebody that immediately and without due process is probably in a bid to quell the protests - (but it hasn’t) But it can’t be right, surely these matters need investigation, statements and the a just decision, which may well be dismissal / charges filed etc.

There is a big risk of the authorities in the USA actually losing their own police force if they don’t maintain the law and order and due process that everyone deserves. Has the cop in this instance actually violated the procedures That are given to him for arresting people? If a cop needs to be fired then fine, fire hundreds of them but only after due process.

RIP the victim, On his daughters birthday apparently.

The killing was justified and the officers were overly restrained but when he pointed a weapon, he had to go.

Firing the officers, having the police Chief stand down.

Un****ingbelievable.

What we'll see is the Police losing their best officers in America now, who would be a policeman now, especially if white, you aren't even allowed defend your life and the Mayor will allow the last few black community businesses to be burnt.

this guy was not killed because of the colour of his skin. he was shot..because he attacked a police officer taking his weapon and tried to flee the scene. unfortunately he died as a result,but that's his fault and not the officer in question.

Did he have a hidden gun, did you see it? Did the police see it?

How did they know he was violent and very drunk? Did they scan his car reg and check first?

And if they did why not call for backup, that would be the sensible and reasonable thing to do eh?

In any civilised country the following driver or the drive through staff would of simply woke him up probably with a toot of their horn. One has to wonder if the staff would of even called the police if he was white.

If police can't understand that, if you are threatened you back away, then they shouldn't be in the police. The rule is always to deescalate, calm the situation & talk. But American is totally different.

But I doubt that many of the hang em, shoot em & flog em brigade on Boards will agree.

You can't just go home if found drunk and asleep in a car. You do that here and get caught, you get arrested.

I don't think there's a law here against being asleep over the limit in a car.?? I think the Garda have to prove immediate intent to drive, that is sitting in driver's seat with keys in ignition and AWAKE! You can hardly drive if you're asleep. Or am I wrong?ðŸ™‚

So it was the taser 7 they used was it...?

The x3 model has three shots, maybe that was what the police had in which case they had ample opportunity between the two offices to subdue the victim without shooting him dead!

I could be wrong but it looks to me like the chasing PO has a taser in his left hand while in pursuit, then he loses it after the man fired his taser at him. Then he pulls out his gun with his right hand and shoots.
