(in my case I worked throughout this).......but wait until you hear teachers through one obstacle after the other in the way of schools reopening...."we might catch Covid from the kids" etc etc. In a country of 5 million people we have a miniscule amount of new cases now...... if this was any other virus it wouldn't even be mentioned. 95% of people who get Covid recover, most get mild symptoms. If you are vulnerable speak to your employer, otherwise get on with it and get schools fully open by September! We are the laggards of Europe now.

They will also be closing soon for the summer holidays. France and Germany the end of June/first week of July. I don't know what their plans are for the next academic year however. But it's just us lazy Irish teachers who wont go to work!!!!

Sammy2012 wrote: » Okay all countries are not back to school as normal. They have some kids in school for certain parts of the week but not all pupils together at one time. I as a teacher will happily return to school at the end of August/September. I have no intention of going back in the summer. I have been working every day since school closed and I'm looking forward to this day two weeks when I can switch off and spend time with my own kids over the summer. Imagine that! Teachers have kids and lives of their own.

Are they waiting it out for a second spike or something, to continue to milk the system, they have had months sitting around all on full salaries and many schools not bothering with online classes because the board of education told them not to use zoom, thats the joke, no free thinking guys don't operate out of the curriculum or what the goberment tell ya! any excuse to hang up the phone and back on to the Instagram fitness profiles.

We're going to come up with a solution that allows all kids to return to school at the end of August, early September as originally indicated.
