I haven't seen or heard anything from Mary Lou, Slab Murphy and other good Republicans in ages.

For those of us who did not see it, what was the "this" that Cullinane was asked his opinion on?

the decision to reduce the covid payment scheme for non full time workers
the governments overall reaction to the crisis
the government's decision to make private hospitals public and how this was handled

As I said - a lot of things.

All the things that the government was getting praise for - SF were going to do and all the things the Gov was getting criticised for - SF would have done differently.

MaryLou was on the, six o clock news, she's very happy with the way the covid crisis was handled and is going, a ringing endorsement of how, the Govt have handled it really.
A niggle about the payments, but apart from that it sounded like she's happy with FG to continue on, at least that's what it sounded like to me anyway.

The DUP is demanding that Conor Murphy release all correspondence relating to a PPE joint order with Dublin that the Republic's Health Minister says was never placed.

Or maybe we will expect something like this.

Well for the last while the lads on here have been saying SF couldn't be held responsible for how the virus was handled north of the border, but if it turns out the health minister was responsible for ppe procurment and was fibbing about orders then that would be a serious matter.
He obviously had some control of the budget at least, if not the actual policies.

I thought the joint order for PPE meant that SF “supporters” would steal it south of the border and deliver up north.

I thought this had been cleared up at committee already with the UUP and others happy.

I think the issue is that Murphy claimed the deal was hijacked by India and the US but it now seems the order never existed in the first place.

Did he not tell the inquiry that? That the order could not be completed?

If Harris says that he was 'not aware of an order' he would be right...because it was 'never completed'.

Mr Murphy on March 27th said a “very significant” PPE order from China had been jointly placed with the Irish Government. However, he clarified last Friday that it had been “agreed that orders would be placed through North-South collaboration” on March 27th but that the presence of major players in the market such as the US and India had meant the order could not be completed.
