Simon and Leo said it was essential workers being flown in , they are only reviewing restrictions now on advice of CMO. Completely irresponsible to be giving such conflicting messages

Unfortunately the majority of deaths are in nursing homes, which in my opinion were always horrendous places and an atrocity waiting to happen. My parents both 86 and working away everyday, agree that the country needs to reopen. This was just a temporary measure to insure hospitals weren't overwhelmed.

Stateofyou wrote: » What on EARTH does that even mean. What point does that even illustrate. About as senseless as some of the rest of the stuff you keep posting. You also like to use the word indefinitely, as do some other posters. Yet I have never seen anyone else say that or even imply that. There are still people working and paying tax, some sectors have never shut down as you talk about there yourself. Many work from home. The economy didn't shut down.

Simon giving interviews to papers that charge premiums to read the article is poor communication and leads to frustration in my opinion. People will become complacent. It’s already happening now, people’s behaviour has drastically shifted this weekend from what I can see in my area
Cork Boy 53 wrote: » Nothing sensationalist about that at all. If a vaccine is not developed for another 12 to 15 months or so it could quite easily be the case.

Hearty80 wrote: » Are you for real or do you not live in the real world?? How do you think parents all over the world go to work??? Its because there children are at creche, childminders or school. Would you like parents to take their children to work with them?? Or go back to the 1960's??
Stateofyou wrote: » You have literally never explained anything to me. You seriously talk a lot of nonsense. I just want to know what a dog with a mallet up it's arse actually means - could you at least help me out with that one? Trying to understand what you're saying but I just can't. Literally NO ONE is saying that receiving the Cover payment is indefinitely sustainable. So what point are you trying to make. There's a global pandemic. We're probably going to face a recession as are numerous other countries. We can't over whelm our health systems. More people would die. So we have to stay at home and flatten the curve. We have to bide our time and figure out how we can ease out of this with the least amount of damage and loss of life until/if we have a vaccine or treatment. Meanwhile people have to eat and pay some bills. Thats going to suck for the economy but that's the way it is. What are we missing here.

Hearty80 wrote: » We have flattened the curve. Schools all over Europe are planning on reopening, why would ours stay closed? The health system is not overwhelmed. We are staying home for 2 more weeks, then that's it. Time to face reality we are leaving lockdown sooner rather then later. We will not be waiting for a vaccine to return to work, that's just ridiculous.
