Ok so I have been showing symptoms for 3 weeks and just got tested today I will know the results in the next 48hrs I pray that I don't have it

Not affected by this plague, but many articles have suggested a self-test (of sorts), would be the ability to "hold your breath for 10secs when you wake up each morning" without any grasping for air or chest discomfort means ok-ish.

Probably have to get tested, fiancé and i have most of the symptoms today, she works in retail and the scumbags she works for wouldn't voluntarily close if a flesh eating virus was doing the rounds

You need to contact your GP as soon as possible and let him/her make the decision if you need testing or not.

Thanks to all that shared your story here...stay safe,stay sane,mind yourself.

Well...worked fine all week.
Saturday woke up with fever.By lunch time, big pain in the stomach followed by huge burning hot pain in the chest area... very painfull.Isolated last night and got really sweatty...i remember even two out of body experience...
Now,all gone,very hungry and need a big cup of coffee.

Thanks to wife,she "packed" me with all the vitamins and supplements...God Bless her !

Going to call GP on Monday but i think i beat the "synthetic lab made virus" !?

Not so in my case. My GP said he had no list of testing centres, that the HSE will contact me directly re.location of test and to check the HSE website. No information about that there at all.

The Journal article says a testing centre was set up at Páirc Uí Chaoimh yesterday.

Does this mean people can have it and recover before they ever get tested? Surely this will skew the figures completely that are being reported and actual positive tests are far higher ?

Know two people who’ve been tested. One on south of city and another north. Both rang GPs on Monday. One tested on Wednesday in Tallaght Stadium and the Northside one tested in Croke Park on Thursday. One in 20s but with underlying health issues and just off the back of a chest infection. Both awaiting results.

I think that testers travelling to your home only happened in the very early stage of the outbreak here. We are past that stage now.

Can I just say iv had diarrhea on and off for the last two weeks, and tomorrow I will have a temp everyday for the last 2 weeks and a few days with a tight chest. I was tested last Monday and still haven't heard my results. I'm hoping they'll be there tomorrow, that will be a week waiting then

I've had temp most days now on and off,also diarrhea all day yesterday for the first time body aches and also chills... I think that's all symptoms now except breathing which is restricted by the nose atm

Topdolla , what tempature are you having ? I'm hovering between 37 and 38.2 but hasnt went up any higher than that

Had some awful dose late last month, chest was knackered felt like it was steam rolled every breath I took it was like I had an iron weight on my chest fits of random coughing that ended up me struggling to breathe. Aches and pains everywhere sore throat high temp and just feeling out of it. HSE wouldn't test me as I didn't meet their criteria, now a month later I now do meet the criteria and waiting to be tested.

Since then I have been deemed better by my doctor I feel better but a few close family I have been in contact now are showing symptoms.

anyone know if there is something else out there going around that causes a lingering sore throat? I have had a scratchy throat for about 8 days, not overly painful but have to keep clearing my throat especially if I talk a lot. I feel fine and no other symptoms, not leaving the house, so don't really want to waste doctors time or testing resources.

EXACTLY. I had raw scratchy throat for a week (I also had very tight chest, breathlessness and a cough). I had absolutely no fever. Waiting for test now but all symptoms gone except scratchy throat. Doubt very much its Covid. Hate wasting medical time having a test that someone far sicker could have. I am not at work and live alone.

I had the same symptoms in January for 6 weeks and was very sick, Steroids and antibiotics didnt work. It was either Covid back then or else some other bug with similar symptoms.
