Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I asked the lads in the Horan Deli about the pizza - they should be up and running next week - the advertising and store signs are up already and space made for the pizza ovens. It's mizzoni pizza - I think it's a franchise.

As far as I remember getting one in Dublin years ago, they do a gigantic "Wagon Wheel" pizza that needs to be turned sideways to get inside the front door.

They do an awesome Taco Bella Calzone too, I'm starving here thinking about it.

Are Golden disks still open? I didn’t pass by that way. If they go that strip of shops will be seriously empty. And the way things are going at the moment, the future is a little scary for the businesses in town.

I had to go in today for a few bits and although town wasn’t empty, it was very quiet for a Saturday. I noticed the coffee shop Coffee start was closed. Caitrionas hair salon was closing from 1pm. I suspect other hairdressers may have to close too. Aqua dome closed, museum, Siamsa and sports complex closed. I don’t know about other gyms yet, they seem to be operating for now. Very worrying times for everyone.

I wouldn't worry super Ken and the Chamber Alliance will save the day i'm sure.

On the serious note another bail out for the hotels etc yet nothing for other businesses

The Arena gym is closing until at least the 29th March, Roundy's, Ashe Hotel, the Blasket bar, Ugly Mug/The Glasshouse...

That's all I've heard of this evening. Its very worrying. I know its very important for everything to keep this virus as contained as possible, but the long term affects are not good. Sorry to depress people :(

I decided to delete the post about the facebook post chamber alliance have posted. It wasn't a good idea for them to post it, so I don't want to add to the stress and panic by sharing it too. Its not going to help.

Ah yeah, just bury everyone else's head in the sand there because you don't agree with the Chamber Alliance.

More that it's preferable to wait for the Government to make any such announcement, rather than provoke another round of bulk-buying.

They've since changed the post to say it's about supports available to businesses, poor effort by them

Thankfully someone had the cop on to edit the post and say it was about business supports. A lot of people were not impressed with the initial post which was badly worded and caused a bit of a panic!
I wonder what supports will be in place for businesses?

Hennessy's bar is the latest pub to close. Apart from the Blasket I don't know if any other bars have made the decision yet.?

did you see their post?? They put up a post which panicked a lot of people by its initial wording, which has now been edited to clarify what it was about (business supports). Nothing to do with me not agreeing with the Chamber alliance! I was trying not to cause further panic!!

im guessing it has to do with gatherings of over 100 people that they are closing , not many pubs in town can hold that many so a few will probably stay open

To be fair, all available government resources must be channeled towards funding the health services. End of.

If businesses go to the wall, then unfortunately so be it. Once this crisis is over, the likelihood is that the economy will rebound pretty quickly.

Well said Quackster, this is not a time for business people to adopt a victim mentality.

Will it's pretty much an economic catastrophe so they really don't have a choice. The government won't have the resources to bail anyone out.

We do have a choice, and we should have enough of a social conscience not to burden other people with a sense of entitlement to profit.

Some good news. The polish lads have a big mizzoni sign on their shop.
Let's just hope they remain open over the next few months.

A reminder that they also do takeaway dinners.

A suspected drunk driver caused a crash up near McDonalds earlier today. They apparently then drove away from the scene and managed to crash further down the road, near the hospital! Gardaí arrested them.
I think the car they crashed into had to have the occupants cut out of the car. Hopefully no one seriously injured.

Good grief. I was down there with my son this morning. We got a takeaway which was the only choice but we planned on nothing else.

Hi is there any pass photos booths in tralee need a passport photo

There's one in the lobby of Manor shopping centre. The centre is open by all accounts.

You can renew your passport online though and take the photo yourself (going by their guidelines).

The main PO has one that the passport office can download your photo from.

I had my new passport in 3 days after doing it online.

I can't seem to remember it being there recently, I was going to use it but was not there last year.

I suspect we will see a bunch more announced tomorrow. My mate almost certainly has it (Wife of one of his colleagues tested positive and passed it around his work) and was over for testing in the new test center in the south campus yesterday.
