They should warn people who sign up about the 5 euro by letter , sms, email etc and have it on a sign.

Imagine that! Ludacris! Unlike how every other pay as you go service works (mobile, pay as you go energy, pay as you go tolls) :rolleyes:

@Mad_Lad, are you serious about the €5 fee and them plastering it everywhere? Pop a notice at every charger about the 45 minute rule. Job done. If people don't read signage it's their own fault, like those who assume parking is free when charging.

Excellent. Would be great if they would automatically charge the fee to a person who initiates two charging sessions in a row - that's easy to detect.

In fact, there's so many examples of this in different sorts of services we all use....fine print stuff almost everywhere and no one displays that anywhere. Read the T&Cs otherwise nobody cares - your problem.

ok, I see the 'pay as you go' 33c option has this:

"Free ESB charge point access card worth €10. Initial top up of €20 required (Pre Pay only)"

so looks like the pay as you go has an upfront charge whereas the introductory offer has no fee .

It's not a charge. It's credit. That's how PAYG works. You need money in your account. Just like phone credit, pre-pay electricity, etc.

Yeah but that's no good to the person who has to charge if a car is overstaying their 45 min charge, the more people are aware the better.

A simple sign

45 mins max stay or 5 Euro fee etc. Not difficult.

I'm not sure I think the "reserved" feature is or will be a good idea ?

How is that going to work ?

You say I want to be at charger A at 18:05 and the charger is reserved ?

You get to charger A at 18:15 due to traffic and the charger is free or still reserved and if it's still reserved that means it's been unusable for 10 mins ?

Or , what if you are charging and it comes up to the reserve time , will it shut off charging to your car ?

Yes it will result in some unused chargers but if the person who reserved has to pay for the reserved period, it's good business.

I don't know about reserving chargers, it just doesn't seem right but maybe after reading some comments I might have a different view.

I'm totally against the concept of reserving chargers.

Hopefully if they do introduce it, there will be an extortionate fee for the priveledge.
