Beep scheme - anyone joining

As above, €40 euro per calf, seems you can rent the scales for €50 euro.
Not sure on the number of weigh ins required. For me it would be ~800 euro, can’t say whether I’m interested or not

Lad in our DG thought he had everything in order, but he had to re-submit the weights after contacting them. If anyone is in doubt, it might be worthwhile making a phonecall.

The weights appear in ICBF for us. Did they appear there for the lad in your DG? Doesn't that mean that everything should be good? Haven't got ours need by the way.

Now that the extended deadline has past any word on how many actually applied for this scheme? There was meant to be €8 million of an under spend on this scheme, I wounder will they give a top up on the €40 / head to use up this surplus? You would wonder why anyone who originally signed up for this scheme didn't complete it.

Farmers will now have until 5:00pm of next Friday, November 15, to submit that data to the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) to avail of a €40 payment per cow/calf pairing.

Deadline for weighing was Nov 8, deadline for submitting the weights is Nov 15.

Honestly? There is a sizable portion of Irish beef farmers that want money for nothing and if they have to do anything for it “it isn’t worth their while”.
That, and Irish farming social media has turned into a hotbed for conspiracy theories in the past 12 months.

Have to agree with your 1st point anyhow bogman. I had as much work as most with this scheme but was not complaining last week when I got over 2 and a half grand. Nothing for nothing in this world.

I reckon I'm pulling out of all schemes from now on. I wasnt paid the BDGP last year and no explanation given. Finally told a month after the payment date that I was getting an inspection. The following morning! Had all the cattle needed inside and in the crush when the guy called and everything was 100%.

I wasn't paid till April.

Screw that, I don't need that aggravation in my life.

I see the new BEEP scheme is opening tomorrow.
€90 for the first 10 calves.
€80 per calf after that.

€50/calf for weighing the calf which is compulsory.
€30/calf for either vaccinating for pneumonia or feeding meal to calves pre weaning. These are optional.
€10 for testing dung for parasites which is optional also.

I always vaccinate against Pnuemonia with two shots of Rispoval 3 every year which costs about €12/calf, so at least i'll get paid for that.
But i see that you have to give a single shot against IBR also which i haven't being doing. How much does this cost?

How many times have i posted not to depend on subsidy money to be paid on time, jasus, to get it anytime is a nice bonus. ...... best paying hours are those on paperwork unless of course you're dairy farmer

I'm all in aswell. The whole vacination thing has being bugging me for a while. I was thinking all along to maybe look at doing cows for Lepto this year. Was going to discuss it with my vet.

How will a farmer be required to prove? Is it as simple as a self declaration (backed up by remedy records and feed receipts)?

We already feed meal & dung sample so why not weight as well this time.
