A very severe injury to peter Penkert of mount sion with what could be a career threatening injury descended into a farce. After snapping an arm, he was eventually stretchered off by members of his own team. There was no ambulance on hand or order of Malta which I heard after are only €100 to secure ( I may be wrong on that) Anyway, after getting stretchered from the field they were advised to put him down on the floor of the toilets where approximately 20 children stood over him to peer obviously out of curiosity. An ambulance was called which had to come from Kilkenny to assist so he was left lying on a stretcher in the toilets which didn’t have proper lights working for over 40 minutes. Word that’s filtered back tonight is saying he’ll be lucky to play again suck is the extent of the damage. How can we ever be seen as forward thinking county when our basic services at county semi final games are in the Stone Age. That amongst many other things.

As it turns out FMW and Ballyduff couldn’t be separated in the relegation final yesterday so it might all work out, no one up and no one down this year

I think it was Even Curran that received a nasty injury, and not even a stretcher in place, he had to be carried off the pitch and then left wait for an ambulance. How the order of malta/civil defence or Irish Red Cross are not present at these games is beyond me. Voluntary organisations with the require skills. Thankfully often then not they are not needed which is great. €15 yesterday, good crowd at it and not any first aid to been seen other than those involved with both sides. I'm sure providing any service will come with a cost but surely player welfare must be catered for.
