I enjoyed Inquisition a lot. Sunk around 200 odd hours in over two playthrough's. Always used the mouse and keyboard as well, and it was fine. A bit unresponsive at times, but never really bothered with the controller, even though i do usually use a controller for 3rd person games (like Assassins Creed).

Star Sector is my main game at the moment. Gradually building up a fleet after exploring a bunch of systems and finding AI cores to fund my soon to be colony.

Ah, god no then, controller all the way as far as I'm concerned.

While there has evidently been improvements made to the game post-release in terms of more customisation options for a mouse/keyboard setup, there have also been fundamental gameplay changes made which, imo, make the controller the most logical choice, at least from the perspective of someone who has put a considerable amount of time into the old Bioware/Black Isle games.

Depends how you want to play it really. DA:O offers an experience much closer to the older Bioware/Black Isle style of games thanks to the isometric camera option. Not only did I prefer that view for nostalgia's sake but I also find it to be vastly more efficient for companion management during combat and moving around large environments. If a keyboard/mouse setup isn't required for that mode it's definitely advised.

Props for your patience, I didn't even make it out of the first valley before I had to start over. If you do have a controller then I'd still recommend giving it a shot though, if you're a fan of the series it's definitely a return to form after DA2.

Assassins Creed: Unity.

Hoo boy. Playing this over four years since it was released, after numerous patches and thankfully higher end hardware on the PC, at least meant I was able to avoid the technical ****show others faced at launch but what was left was...ugh. While the world was, both technically and artistically speaking, fantastic in places the characters and story were not only underwhelming in and of themselves but also within the context of the world they lived in. I never really felt part of it in the same way as the previous games. That would have been the most disappointing thing had it not been for the changes to combat which, off the top of my head, suffered from some of the worst levels of regression I can remember in a video game. Before, combat in the series could have been considered formulaic but now? Jesus.

Penumbra series

The first game in the series, Overture, was a cracking little horror title. The standout feature is definitely the atmosphere throughout its subterranean world. It's rare, even today, for a game to be able to make you feel so alone and vulnerable even with such dated technology. Conversely, the combat is truly awful but at least the developers were aware of it. That leads to the second game, Black Plague. Gone is the awful combat to be replaced with a couple of stealth sections and a stronger focus on puzzles. While the atmosphere isn't as chock full of dread as its predecessor, it still manages to convey the feeling of something awful having happened in its corridors. The story and its delivery are also improved but what starts out as interesting soon devolves into straight up WTF territory which was somewhat disappointing. As for the third game, Requiem, I've played better mods in my life than this. Total waste of time.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Ran the full gamut of emotions on this one. Started it with my usual choice of Human Male Warrior with a keyboard and mouse setup and everything instantly felt wrong. Voice acting was uneven. The camera was all over the place. Click to move and interact was gone and combat was baffling - why doesn't my character move position when their target moves? Frustrated, I started again, this time going for a British-voiced Human Female Mage with a controller. The game just clicked, it's not Origins and it's not DA2, it's its own thing - this is fine. So began around 150hrs of some really great game. It's certainly not without its flaws and definitely has some pacing issues if you choose to do everything but I still enjoyed the **** out of it. Just finished the Trespasser DLC now and I'm currently torn between being pumped for DA4 and also rather afraid to read the Anthem-followup article on how ****ed its development is.

Oh well, at least I have its cracking soundtrack to do me for the next while. Speaking of, I'm a sucker for a cheesy, over the top cutscene but this one, after

the fall of Haven

which uses a variation on the main theme with the cast singing, gets me.

I recommend not playing anything for a couple of weeks.
After a while you'll get the itch to go back to something you'll enjoy playing.

I've felt the same in the past. Bored, Can't find something to play or forcing myself to play something just to finish it.
Playing something else when you're burnt out will just give you a bad taste for that game.

I've found that taking a break is the best way to cleanse your gaming palette.

Remember it's supposed to be fun!!

Star Sector, No Mans Sky, Final Fantasy 14 and WoW Classic.

Probably won't play Classic for long, it's more just to enjoy the nostalgia for a while. FF14 is great, and i've just started Heavensward, which is supposed to be excellent, so really looking forward to that. Star Sector is a great little game, though i'm not sure how much more time i'll put into it. No Mans Sky i pop back into every now and again, to see what's been added in the latest update.

FF8 Remastered is out next week too, which i'm looking forward to playing.

Massive improvements. It was barely a "game" when it launched.

Really feel that Sony pushed them far too hard, prior to release, coupled with their inability to stop over promising

picked up no man's sky on sale recently. It has had a new expansion patch and it now supports VR. I decided to start in 2D to get the hang of the game. Really sucked me in and i have been too busy to even change to VR, must do that.

I had heard bad things about this game but i am really enjoying it.

I played Black The Fall earlier in the year, and Deadlight a few years ago. I enjoyed both, and I'd say they're similar to Limbo/Inside (2D/isometric, light and shadow, dystopic, etc.) I've not played Little Nightmares yet, but it's on the list.

I need to talk about it. I have a lovely home. 2 adults and twin teenagers. The father is a medical specialist and the mother is a lieutenant, loads of money. Gorgeous house.

There was a fire. The rest of the household ran to safety. Twin 1 couldn't get out. I didn't extinguish the fire. I was a bit bored of my Sims dying of old age all the time. So I let him die.

Mostly veering towards VR games and content recently. Skyrim VR for an hour here and there, Beat Saber with the gf after a few drinks in the evening, Project Cars 2 / Dirt Rally with the wheel, and some other games like Moss, Superhot VR and Budget Cuts. Google Earth VR when I just want something different. It's pretty crazy and looks great with the new Rift.

Non-VR would be the odd session of drunken Rocket League. I have 2.5k+ hours so I'm glad that addiction is gone. Getting into Civ VI a bit but still prefer V. Had a go again at Prison Architect yesterday but had to lean forward to type in item names in the menu so I quit that nonsense. If Cyberpunk is really good, I might build a new PC for it, since Witcher 3 is one of the best games ever.

The game I really want to play but can't is Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes. It is such a laugh in VR or without, but I can only play if I invite a friend over. The main guy for that gets back into the country in two weeks so I'll play some then. Gf doesn't like it, which is unfortunate cause it's such a unique experience. Maybe she knows it could end the relationship.

Just finished Tom Raider.(2015) good game with a silly story but enjoyable all the same.

Have the origin + microsoft gamepass so spoilt for choices.
