I went through the tv forum and didnt see a post on this, but if there is one that I missed, then I apologize ahead of time and this is more then welcome to be closed.

Just wondering what fans thought of this past season. I thought it was pretty good, but it seemed like it was more focused on the lives of the detectives more then the cases this season. I'm not saying it wasnt focused on the cases they were going through, but it was more into the dramatic lives of the detectives then the other seasons.

Other thoughts?

Carisi is the best character on it, but in fairness Benson, Fin, Rollins, and Carisi always bounce pretty well off each other no matter who gets paired with who in any given episode.

I don't think Philip Winchester will be missed to be honest - he's a good actor and Stone as a character is grand, but he's easily replaceable. They need someone like Alexandra Cabot back as the ADA next season - herself and Barba were probably my favourites over the years, but Barba hasn't been gone long enough for me to miss him yet.

That's great news but it's probably too late. The show went down hill after he left and now it's basically the Olivia show. I used to love it but can take it or leave it. It's not the same without Cregan and Munch. Cregan used to walk a fine line between keeping the detectives in line and the higher ups, yet Olivia spends most of her time working crime scenes. It's lost a lot of it's realism and grittiness.

Edit: so I just read the article and not a chance is he coming back, words from his own mouth.

Yeah I think the last series was the same. 6 or 8 episodes before Christmas but it didn’t resume back until February or something.

The new series is well underway in the states but no even promos for it yet on Universal.

I saw a hint of this on another site recently, but aren't they going to lose time with the schedule. Are they still going to be able to have the finale at the end of May or so.

Eh, it still started in the US in September as always - they've already aired 9 episodes, but are on a break now until January. The UK channels generally don't start at the same time as the US purposely to be able to avoid these hiatuses that take place Stateside. No reason why they wouldn't be finishing in May if they start in December as there's generally about 24 episodes per season.

It’s really lacking with just Benson, Finn and Rollins as the deceives and Carisi as the ADA. Actually Benson is captain so it’s just Finn and Rollins as the cops doing the deceive work.

As I said on earlier post I’m rewatching from the start on Season 3 now and the quality between then and now is striking, its was much more raw and grittier back then, now its just turned into the Benson show.

Bring back Stabler!!!!!!

It was way more realistic back then too. Olivia isn't a detective anymore. She's had two promotions and should be stuck at her desk, coordinating the detectives and dealing with all the political crap that comes with her job title. Instead she's a super human who can be all things at once. It definitely started to go downhill after Stabler left. I miss Munch as well.

Probably spreading out the remaining episodes they have left they still had 4 to film before stopping and they add two surprise returns for the final episode to the season.

I can see a few shows doing the same most of them stopped with 4 to 6 episodes remaining to shoot.
