Pope Francis offered $1m charity donation to go vegan for Lent

Is there anything that can't be bought?

Matthew Glover, CEO of Million Dollar Vegan and who co-founded the Veganuary campaign, said the Pope had been selected for his environmental leadership and influence...

The $1m has been donated by the Blue Horizon International Foundation, the charitable arm of the Blue Horizon Corporation, which invests in companies producing plant-based foods and aims to “accelerate the removal of animals from the global food chain”.

Real separation of interests there!. On top of the usual debunked soundbites and propaganda being spewed the fact that they are using a 12 year old child as the front person for this piece of commercial promotion is sick imo

It's a fantastic idea from a marketing of veganism perspective.

Puts the pope under pressure to accept to donate the money to worthy causes etc and if he does, the result might be that many practicing Catholics begin to give us meat for lent in the same manner that they used to give us sweets. And if they manage to prove to themselves that it's achievable, and that they even feel better for it, then that's a big score for veganism.

Wouldn't be an organisation I'd like to partner up with. Out dated beliefs, shameful covering up, and it's grasp on our culture slowly being removed. Seems more of a match for meat and dairy tbh

A bit personal that. Just dont like bull****e mainly. I never realised there were restrictions on pointing this out. But there you go. There's a poster over in Cool Pics & Videos Forum who only posts pro vegan memes - maybe you'd like to interrogate them perhaps?

The Article (which was all over the News today btw!) is about corporate commercial interests pushing plant based food industry agenda. Using cash, children and religion to do so. So are you saying you are in favour of this? Interesting...

Well I don't like the Catholic church, however if a million goes to charity then I don't see the harm in it.

Yes it's a form of marketing and awareness, but a million going to charity is better than a million going to a tv station or any other form of marketing

It's actually sort of fitting if you ask me. Lent a time when you should fast and deny yourself of luxuries. It's like these vegans actually admitting that their diet is a form of self punishment.
