Ridiculous. Why would a restaurant do that? I just walked away. I was up for a bit of seafood too but just didn't bother on principle.

My favourite burger in the city - the Micko burger (no cheese though). Don't know what the secret sauce is, but it's like my crack-cocaine. Cant get enough of it.

Couple friends of mine went to the Raven and thought the food there was really good, so that might be a slightly more unusual option for you.
cadaliac wrote: » Because, when you walk in the door, you are committed to the place. It is more difficult to walk out. People are looking at you as you stand there and mull over the menu. Bollocks to that. Put the menu and price list outside the door. If you don’t, you will not get my custom and from what i read here, others also.

If a restaurant can't be bothered putting up a menu outside, like the vast majority of restraints in the world, I can't be arsed dealing with them. If you enjoy doing this, good for you.
JackieChang wrote: » It's not that I feel insecure. It's just such an annoying way to operate that I couldn't be bothered my hole with them. Same as the beer revolu above. They're just making things very inconvenient for somebody looking for somewhere to eat. It's annoying so I just walked away.
sporina wrote: » so ye won't spend 1 min to ask to look at the menu yet, even though ye have an interest in eating there,,, yet ye will come on line and moan about such for much longer than a min.. emmm.. sounds dubious to me.. man up and just ask for a fecking menu.. 30 secs sconce - done
Italix wrote: » In fairness I don't think it's too much to ask for.Not a hope in hell I'd be bothered to go in and ask either, just walk on to the next spot with a menu outside. I had an unbelievably good bacon sandwich at the Eden cafe in Dwyers on Forge Hill. It was a toasted ciabatta with maple glazed bacon, excellent coffee as well. Well worth a try if you're in the area.
