Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A lot of talk about selling Kane, not sure what I'm missing?

Bang on form, home to a United side that is struggling to keep clean sheets, Spurs banging in goals, and then very tasty fixtures right after.

Seems to be due to a desire to fund Aggy, but Wolves don't roll over. He looked good against Liverpool but gassed after about 70. I see him hooked on 60-70 again in the next few games.

Maybe there's an argument if on a wildy but not sure I'd use a transfer on it. Kane is hot property at the moment, a more stable option than Agueor imo

my issue is I want Sterling or Aguero without selling Sane.

I'm feeling very light with 0 City players now!

Personally think selling Kane for Aggy (particularly if you already have attacking City coverage) would be a bad move. But yeah it's interesting this year, I sold Auba after his 13 point haul, I do think you have to make some very bold decisions this year. Don't love this move personally, but it is a game of opinions and Aguero is someone who can deliver high rewards.

I have my eye on him but will be banking this week barring any injuries

Jason puncheon heavily linked with Huddersfield
    4.2 mid

    2 FTs.

I've been a keen proponent of having Pogba, but is he worth sacrificing in order to get Sterling in?

    Pogba ----> Sterling
    Kane ----> Rashford

    it would leave me with:

    Fabianski Hamer
    VVD Laporte Yedlin AWB Bennett
    Salah Sterling Sane Ricky Deulofeu
    Rashford Jimenez Wilson

my other option is to get rid of Kane for Aguero for a week, roll the transfer, reassess, and leave Sterling for another week.

obviously i won't do anything before the cup games are done.

Pogba and Kane is better than Sterling and Rashford, IMO.

You have enough for the moment in Sane I feel.

How much would you have ITB if you downgrade Laporte to say a £5m defender?

Was McCarthy injured for Southampton's last game or does the new manager see something in Gunn?

Would be handy to bank the Fabianski cash and bench option to cover my Allison and Robertson defence.
They bought Gunn for 13m in the summer so there's definitely a decent keeper there

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,435 ✭✭✭Shedite27

4.4 too, expected him to be more

    Interesting
I remember seeing him against United and checking his price, he was 4.6 that day. Mad that he's now 4.4

    Pre-United - 14k owners: 4.6m
    Next week - 28k owners: 4.6m
    Today - 14k owners: 4.4m

McCarthy was on the bench so I doubt he was injured.

Most likely Aguero in for Auba. Will then possibly WC soon to get in much needed recruits like TAA, Sterling and a decent keeper.

Thinking Deeney, Ings > Rashford, Camara.

Have exact money so will probably have to make the change soon.

I am not convinced by Rashford, I feel anyone who doesn't have him (myself included) has missed the boat. His game time will almost certainly be reduced now and could lose his place entirely quite easily.

All depends on waether Lukaku can return to form while he has scored 2 goals he has still not looked great to me anyways. Ole did say Rashford could be used on the right or that both could also play up top.

It was interesting to me at least he kept him on when making changes the last day, with Alexis coming on for Martial on the left as I'm not sure how all that will play out for Martial and Alexis if both will only play on the left

If he gets a run in the team he'll be Puncheon above his weight points wise in no time at all.

Yea his comment and the philosophy of united will probably mean that Rashford will get a lot of game time - I wouldn't be worried about him being dropped. Over the course of the season he'll play a lot - maybe not all centrally.

I read rumours that he had disciplinary issue with former manager Mark Hughes. He was sent to the reserves after been caught having a sneaky cigarette with some of the youth players after training. Hughes said he wouldn't tolerate a smoking Gunn.

I went Richarlison Jiminez -> Doucoure rashford and almost instantly have buyers remorse.

    Wow...that's a nice looking team...

You could even downgrade Alonso and upgrade one of your mids to a more premium midfielder.

    Wildcarded this week.

Looking at this squad right now:

    Etheridge, Patricio
David Luiz, Van Dijk, Doherty, Wan-Bissaka, Bennett
    Salah, Richarlison, Fraser, Milojevic, Masuaka,
    Aguero, Aubameyang, Wilson

    Thoughts appreciated.

You could end up having a lot of wolves defensive coverage with Patricio, docherty and Bennett. Granted they could be bench players but still

I think i'd get rid of Patricio, if you want a back up keeper I would Guaita (4.2m) although he isn't 100% nailed on yet. Would replace Bennett with Bednarek (3.9m), doherty gives u enough wolves coverage I think. Not sure I would double up on Bournemouth attack given their recent form, think another city or spurs attacker is needed imo - would look at Sane/Eriksen are my picks.
I would also downgrade VvD to TAA, think he gives you more of an attacking outlet and with Clyne gone to bournemouth he is fairly nailed on atm. You could use that money to upgrade Wilson to Rashford.

I was thinking about changing Wilson up if I could afford it.

Some of those lads are leftovers from pre-WC alright.

    Cheers for the pointers!

Also could save .1m switching masuaka for puncheon. Going to be bench fodder anyway but probably get more mins and more attacking threat.

I wouldn't personally go for milojevic and with other savings suggested you might be able to upgrade. You could also raise more funds with Fraser to brooks switch but can understand why you would go Fraser.

Is Bilva the likeliest to give way when De Bruyne comes back in? He's actually played the most minutes of all the City Mids this season, with the exception of Fernandinho.

Bilva and dilva will probably both suffer mins wise. KDB when back fit has to be first choice along with fernandinho in midfield.

They could however in theory fill in for sane / Mahrez / sterling in that role if pep starts tweaking the system

Hazard and a cheap squad player to be replaced by Salah and a cheaper squad player.

Or alternatively Kane and a cheap midfielder to be replaced by Salah and a cheap forward?

One of Kane or Hazard sadly has to go to get Salah in

Hazard out this week? Really? He loves Newcastle at home to levels only exceeded by how much Suarez loved Norwich.

I did the same, Robbo-TAA to fund Salah was the best option I had of freeing up the funds.

Am I crazy to think about trying to get in Kun to partner Kane?

    Current team

    Ederson Hamer
    Robbo Digne Lindelof AWB Kola
    Salah Pogba Riccy Anderson Moutinho
    Kane Mitro Ings

I need to ship out Ings and would love to bring in Sane but can't see a way of funding it without a hit

Anderson, or Riccy or both. Will be hanging on to Salah and Moutinho.

A good point was made on WGTA podcast that defence and midfield are the best "points per m" value.

However Aguero looks great against Liverpool, City are back firing and he is nailed on.......

I haven't taken a hit yet but I might just do it to get him in

I was looking at getting Aguero in too. Before Christmas he was getting subbed early in a lot of games but with no champions league for 6 weeks I'm thinking he might be playing more minutes now.

Salah and Pogba or Hazard and Sané for this week?

Leaning towards Hazard and Sané right now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 115 ✭✭RisingDamp

Currently without any City or Liverpool cover.

Which would be the best option?

Schurrle to Dilva or Bilva (-4)

    or

    Mitrovic to Firminho (-4)

Need City coverage for MNF at home to Wolves. Might just swap Kane to Aguero or could do Pogba to Dilva but his mins not great with only 1 90 minute performance in league in last 8 matches (2 he didnt feature in)
