Get Firminio back to his favored No. 9 role and get the creativity back into midfield.

Pick 2 of Henderson, Wijnaldum, Milner, Fabinho to play as the other 2 mids.

Just on the time-wasting thing. I really think that the ref should have blown for full-time immediately after the re-start.

It doesn't sit right that the team that are time-wasting should get the benefit of the additional time to try and score an equaliser.

a few thoughts.

firstly, and most importantly, what an incredible moment. i haven't jumped out of my seat like that since the Salah goal against City to make it 4-1 at Anfield last season. Scared the shít out of my 2 year old (who i swear it's the first time she said 'Liverpool'. she shouts 'come on!' quite a bit with me when i embarrass myself at the top of my lungs, but i swear she said 'Liverpool'. anyway, I digress.)

the best part of it was the fact Everton were brilliant, we didn't have to be, and we won through a stupid mistake by the most undeservedly arrogant player in the League. just beautiful. and i couldn't be happier for Origi. Can you imagine being that far on the periphery, coming on in a derby, scoring the winner like that, then having the entire stadium chant your name for minutes afterwards? Life made.

on our performance, we're essentially a bit stuck at the moment. Keita is not up to speed yet obviously, and we've seen how a 3-way combo from Fabinho / Henderson / Milner / Gini doesn't give any service to the front 3. so Klopp is stuck with having to find a place for Shaqiri to try and be the one to drive us forward, or at least open things up. but his inclusion, and the tweaking of the system that has resulted, is destroying Firmino. now Bobby isn't playing well anyway, so this isn't an excuse for him, but it's patently obvious he is not happy there. he looks slow. he looks like he's never played in the League before. that position as a second AM with Shaq just doesn't seem right. you're losing what he's best at - harrying, plugging spaces further up the pitch, and being the first line of defence.

Allisson - that is why you pay money for a goalkeeper. but also, not enough credit is being doled out to Joe Gomez for that follow up clearance. God Christ, that was brilliant not to give up on it.

Allisson also gave us the best moment of the match (in hindsight because of what ended up happening) when he stopped our lads getting in a skirmish with Richarlison for too long as there was still a game to win. leadership in the heat of the moment. epic stuff.

i thought Mane was terrific in the first half, and was the only one who could find space to run at Everton in any way successfully.

the attention being paid to Salah is frightening. he has nothing to work with. there has to be a mountain of space somewhere else on the pitch, because he is fully surrounded whenever he touches it. he should've been squared to by Mane in the first half for a tap-in; the replays show he was screaming for it. he's still in all the right places and is scaring the bejaysus out of them all. I believe that Firmino's form is affecting him, and he is also missing that wide right channel being his predominant position. another problem with the new formation.

Fabinho was fine. you can see how much more he could offer than Henderson, but he's still got to get more mobile.

bottom line is we're still winning. the purchases in the last 12 months of VVD and Allisson have been justified by the results we're getting. yes, we're not as killer in attack as we were, but how fúcking wonderful is it that now we only have to score 1 to be comfortable? score 2 and we can get out the whiskey and chill for the evening. it's fúcking awesome. remember when we'd go 3-0 up and be fúcking ****tíng ourselves because that was the most dangerous scoreline for us to get to?

Yeah, me neither.

for all the frustrations of the attack, our defence is actually the hope we have of beating City to the title. as brilliant as City are at keeping the ball away from their goal, their defence can be got at more than ours IMO. that's not a dig at them, that's just my impression, and the one shred of hope I have that their juggernaut can be derailed.

that all being said, it is fúcking glorious being so relevant again. being the only ones who are deemed close enough to City to maybe stop them. being the only ones so far that Pep played cautiously against. we are a superb team, missing a key component in Ox / a firing Keita. the team that is playing currently is essentially still short a Coutinho or Can type. that is no small thing, and it is no small achievement to be doing what we're doing in the League. City have skewed everyone's expectations of what you should be able to do in the Premier League, so we shouldn't lose sight of how well we're doing.

Our year? just maybe. i believe it's possible. even though it's not cool to say it, and i'll be deemed by rivals as delusional and getting ahead of myself. fúck them. i'm enjoying this ride so far.

now, to batter Burnley on Wednesday....
