No experience but following my research it looks like good bang for your buck.

Not sure what littlewoods are like, I tell you in the coming weeks. Bought it today. Just wanted something for light use I will also buy a windows machine but this will tie me over until I purchase.

It also available in Amazon Germany at €299 but I'm not sure if it's a quarty or quartz keyboard.

I've bought my last few laptops from Germany ,far better value over there for Laptops.

After mulling over every option I ended up getting the Argos Lenovo that glasso linked to on page one. This will be for basic school use, so we can live with the slightly inferior screen while enjoying the quicker performance of the SSD.

Just looked up reviews of this and they all seem positive added benefit of the big screen and it being touchscreen also. Will report back once it arrives.

Littlewoods are horrendous to deal with if something goes wrong. Worst company I've ever dealt with.

Spent at least 15hrs researching and pricing and pulled the trigger on the dell G3 15inch with the i5 8th gen processer, 1050 nvideo graphics card along with 128ssd and 1tb hdd. Got the lot along with 36 months antivirus for 760 with 12% off with dell ending today I think

Not sure there is a better bang for your buck out there

glasso. Just reading your advice below. Would you reinstall windows and run from the ssd stick?
I would have thought the main advantage of ssd was when running windows.

cpu in argos one is fine for general use and has an ssd. the cpu is just below current i3 levels and good.

hp one has a full hd screen, not ips tho. and slightly better i3 chip. but no faster ssd drive.

the best deal imo is to buy the hp one and plug in a sata m.2 2280 ssd stick - about 30 from amazon for a 120gb one. it has a free m.2 slot

the argos one is grand if you don't want a full hd screen

both deals subject to availability of course - no idea of current stock levels.

The G3's can be got in an "Up to" 1060 config.
The particular model at €829 before discount has the 1050 in it.

It also looks like the model for €799 before discount has double the storage of the 829 model, but is cheaper?
